Chapter Six – The Omega Princess. Teo breathed a sigh of relief as he watched Jonathon take Valentina along with a few other wolves with him to Barcelona to go on the night out and meet his twin sister. He felt a slight sting of sadness, at not being able to meet his best friends twin sister knowing just how hard Jonathon had tried to find her, along with how devastated he had been when his grandmother finally told him of her existence. But, as much as he would have loved to have gone with the group, he had far too much work to catch up on. Being a young Alpha at 23, rising to power in less-than-ideal circumstances, along with the rumours surrounding his predecessor’s death. Teo felt that the whole world and its mother were watching him, some championing, like those in the Spanish council, and others waiting for him to fail. He was not born Alpha, he was a beta, until the council asked him to take over the pack. The elevated position caused his wolf to mature into the role at an alarming rate, growing an extra three inches in hight, his muscles were already large, but suddenly he became almost hulk like overnight. Although the physical changes were now all over with, he was still learning how to lead a pack in kindness and fairness, only using his new power ruthlessly when the situation required. So, nights out with his friends were a thing of the past, never having one for 9 months since he had taken over. Valentina had one thing right, he really needed to make some time for himself, but to break his promise to his future mate was not part of his plan, plus the woman had worked her way around most of the single wolves of the pack, even if he had wanted some relief, she was not the she-wolf to go to. With a sigh, Teo opened Gabriella’s file with a small groan of disappointment. She was a healer wolf and had studied hard to go to medical school. Originally her plan was to train near the pack as both a doctor and veterinarian, but then Alpha Alix died, and she was one of his pack members who had spread the rumours about how she believed that the only person who had benefited was the new alpha. Despite many meetings with the she-wolf to assure her he was innocent she became more and more distant, and did not trust him, so had begun her search to find a pack away from Montseny and do her training elsewhere in Spain. Gabriella leaving was a blow to the future of the pack, as gifted healers were scarce on the ground, but the situation could not be resolved, and so with a heavy heart, and a lot of anger towards whoever had killed Alix, he signed his name on the official paperwork, releasing her from the pack. Tomorrow, before she left, he would do the ritual to break the pack bonds, then give her the paperwork, to say she was not a rogue wolf, and that would be that. With another sigh, Teo looks at the reports from the border patrols. Thankfully, nothing untoward had happened whilst he was out of the pack, and so after briefly looking them over, he signs the bottom and files them away. His next task was to chat with the two teenagers who keep fighting over Camile. Mind linking with the boys, he waits in his office for them to arrive, sighing, not really wanting to deal with the teenage angst, but if he does not intervene the whole thing could get out of control, and the last thing he needs is some of the older pack members saying he is not able to lead the pack or even correctly discipline the teenagers. Johan arrives first, knocking on the door, the 14-year-old enters, standing with his head tilted to one side, his face set hard. Diego arrives shortly after, his features full of defiance, arms crossed in front of his chest, sneering at Johan. Teo let out another groan of frustration, he remembered all to well being a teenage werewolf, the human teenage version was tame in comparison as the wolves began to develop at a rapid rate, they not only had to deal with the usual hormones that plagued all teenagers, human or wolf, they also had the added burden of a hormonal, ever-changing, and strengthening wolf to contend with. The boys needed to learn how to control the animal within made for a challenging time for both the parents and the pack leadership. “Listen to me boys, I do not know, or really care, what this last spat was about. You have both been brought before me too many times now. So, you are on punishment. For the next week you will both rise at 4 am, then go help the omegas with cleaning duties, including the toilets, then proceed straight to training. After school, you will do your homework, then training, then head into the kitchens and help with the serving of food. You will NOT eat with the pack but on your own, then when finished, you will work together to ensure ALL of the washing up is done from service. If you complain or fight, the time of your punishment will increase a day for each time you break the rules.” Teo began, then sighing, he looked at the boys. “I am disappointed in you both, I have high hopes for your future, you both have been showing great qualities before this nonsense. However, that future will NOT come to pass if you do not learn how to get along despite your differences. Now, get out of my sight.” Teo dismissed the boys, who lowered their heads to their Alpha, but still had some of that teenage defiance behind their eyes as they left the office. Teo then quickly mind linked with Manuela the head omega, to let her know she had some help for the next week, and to make sure the boys did all the mucky jobs, including cleaning out the toilets beside the training ground, as they got very dirty and smelly, very quickly. It was gone midnight before Teo left his office, finished with his work for the day. Tired he made his way up the wooden staircase to his Alpha suit and headed straight to the bathroom for a quick shower before climbing into bed exhausted from the day. His mind began to wander to the day he found out Alpha Alix was dead. It was more than a little shocking, Alpha Alix had been fit, relatively young at 55 years old, and had not long taken over the pack. His body was found among the trees just beyond the training ground. There was no sign of attack. It was almost like he just collapsed and died. But when the post-mortem had been carried out there were traces of silver in his bloodstream. No puncture wounds on his body, so the thought was he had been deliberately poisoned, and probably by someone close to him. As Teo had taken over the Beta position six-months prior to that when his own father passed away peacefully from old age, the finger had been pointed in his direction, as he had means, due to the silver they kept in the dungeons for when he interrogated rogues. He was close enough to Alix to poison him, and given he was promoted to Alpha by the council, he had, according to some, the motive. The truth was, it could have been anyone, dungeon guards had access to the liquid silver, along with the whole leadership team, but because they all resigned their positions when Teo took over, they were ruled out. There was also the distinct possibility this was done by another pack, but no evidence had been found, so the death was marked as suspicious, and the council promised to do a further investigation, and to question all the Catalonian Alphas. What Teo had found out during his own investigations, was that Alix had been a frequenter of a shifter bar located in no man’s land, where single wolves met up for drinks and a release from the s****l tension, from all the different packs. As Alix had not found his mate, it seemed that he would often seek out some of the she-wolves in the bar to get some s****l relief. So… the truth was it could have been anyone. The question also remained, ‘Why?’ Other than the L’Adou pack, Montseny had good relations with all of the other packs in Catalunya and there were no issues with the packs from the rest of Spain. Alpha Pol was the first to face the inquisition by the council, after days of questioning by discerning wolves who could sniff a lie out from a hundred-kilometres away, he had passed with flying colours. Teo really needed to check out the shifter bar, but his s****l frustration was hanging by a thread at the moment, never more so than in the past week. Temptation was getting difficult to control, so until he found his Luna, he did not trust himself to enter the place. Teo let out another sigh, although he was exhausted, he knew sleep would not find him. It never did; not until he could clear his name. He turned in his large super king-sized bed, closing his eyes willing for his brain to shut off, when he heard giggling and laughter from downstairs. Shaking his head slightly he knew it was the guys back from the pub crawl, and his mind wandered to his best friend. Jonathon, finally he had found his twin, and Teo wondered what the girl was like. He felt a wave of sadness wash over him again, as he thought about how nice it would have been to go meet the girl. Carlos whimpered inside of him. “We should have gone,” Carlos complained. “Yeah, I know, but we just have too much to do. Who ever thinks being an Alpha is easy, is sorely mistaken?” Teo answered his melancholy wolf. “We will never find our mate stuck in here dealing with shitty teenagers and leads that go nowhere,” Carlos complained again. “There is not a lot we can do about that. But chin up, the new student wolves will be arriving by next week, we will go greet them, see if she is amongst them.” Teo tried to comfort his wolf. “I hope so, because we need our Luna to help with the burden, and my rock-hard d**k!” Carlos groaned once more. Teo could not argue with his wolf, he was correct, he was in desperate need to find his Luna, and not just because he was sexually frustrated, but also because he really did need the help. A soft knock at his door, made him growl out in frustration, the scent already indicated who this was. “Valentina, NO!” Teo shouted, then heard the she-wolf scamper away from his door. This was becoming a nightly occurrence and more and more difficult to refuse her. Yes, Teo really needed to find his mate, and soon.
