Chapter 4 Todd read the message that had been delivered to his door, folded the paper, and stuffed it into his pocket. Pressing his lips into a thin, tight line, he tuned out Nick’s chatter and let his heart and head war it out. Nick had only been here with him for a week. It hadn’t been long enough. Todd wanted more time. Todd’s heart wanted forever, but Todd’s head knew that in order to keep Nick, provide for him, they both had to work.
