"What are you doing?" I jumped in place at the sound of the sudden voice behind me, turning around to see one of the girls standing with her hands on her hips as she eyed me sceptically.
"Feeding mulberry leaves to the silkworms." I replied with a smile, despite the look of contempt on her face.
"Were you told to feed them?" She asked with tight lips and I shook my head.
"Not necessarily. I had nothing to do at the moment and I noticed the silkworms ran out of mulberry leaves, so I decided to replace them." I answered.
I've seen how the supervisors yell at the girls most times for not doing their jobs properly or even when they are a few minutes late.
"Are you in the group of girls assigned to look after the silkworms?" She asked, and I shook my head.
"No, I just..."
