“Mum?” Sebastian said with a look of surprise. Behind the door was his mother, Janet, standing with sadness. He and his mum weren’t best of friends, but he was closer to her than he was to his father. He liked to think of her as a friend even though they spoke occasionally. To him, it was good enough. He already didn’t have a relationship with his father,r so having one with his mother wouldn’t be so bad. “Oh dear. Can I come in?” She asked, forcing a smile. “Of course, mum. You don’t need to ask.” Sebastian replied and led her into the room. “I’m sorry about Ava. I haven’t been able to sit still since I heard the news about her missing. And to think that she was kidnapped from the palace. I can only imagine how sad you must feel. And poor Ava. She must be so scared.” A tear slipped ou
