Chapter 7: Back Home

Sol

It's been months and we got word that my sister had a son, we were happy, but Dawn had cut Samuel off and refused to talk to him, it's been driving him nuts. My daughter is turning a year tomorrow and we had a celebration plan because it was also Saul's birthday. Saul was Samuel's son, deep down, I felt like he was my son and I wanted to confront Claire about it, since Dawn brought it up, it was on my mind. Did Claire lie about her son's paternity to keep Sam? I watched my wife play with our daughter in the corner of the room, she was beautiful and I wondered if I made a mistake in the agreement we had, I was lying to myself because I was falling in love with her. She has been friendly with the librarian, she says they are just friends but I couldn't help but feel jealous, I decided to take her on a lunch date and walked over to her and said, "It's a lovely day today, join me for lunch."

She smiled excitedly, I felt she loved me in our bond before quickly blocking it and I pretended not to realize, Matilda looked at me and said, "Da, Da," I picked her up as she kicked her tiny legs in excitement. I love my family, I never expected this when we first got mated but I love the idea of being a dad and having a loving mate at my side. Samuel was right once again but I needed to tell the truth to save his and Dawn's relationship, would he forgive me or punish me, brother or not, it was considered treason for what we did. Honestly, I never thought he would choose Claire as his Queen after stringing her along for so many years, I regret taking her to bed. The day went by pretty quickly, Personia and I had a lovely lunch date, she told me about things she wanted to do and I gave her my support. After I walked her back to my quarters I went over to Samuel's chambers and he was sitting alone with ale in his hand. He looked at me and said, "Mom has gone to help Dawn out for a few days, I screwed up Sol, and this has been on my mind a lot lately." I sat with him and said, "You need to make amends with her," he smiled and said, "We need to find, Rave, I think he may be innocent," I smiled and said, "Even if I find him, he won't come back here, he was your best friend and you turn your back on him for a good reason." Sam looked at me and asked, "What if that reason was a lie to cover for another lie? I need to know, Sol, so find him." I bowed and walked out, I don't think he realized he ordered me instead of asking me and I left to get Balty's brothers on it, they were good trackers.

I overheard King Samuel and his brother talking about finding Rave, I knew they were on to my schemes and I needed to find him before Sol did. I knew Claire loved Rave and they had a relationship with each other as teenagers, they were stupid enough to get caught by Dawn and we had to think fast. I knew where Rave had gone but he moved once he got there and I lost track of him, I went to Claire and filled her in on what was going on. She looked at me and said, "Find Rave, mother, and get him out of Ravena for good, we came too far for this to blow up in our face." She decided that she would handle Sol, I felt good that her confidence grew once she became Queen, and Samuel leaned on her for decision-making just as the Elders predicted. Once she remains Queen, we control the underworld in our favor, I raised her for this and won't let her lose it.

Our original plan was to get Dawn mated to Rave, Samuel loves his sister and would do anything to please her, once we saw Samuel had a liking for, Claire, we decided that both Claire and Rave be mated into the royal family, controlling them. Sol was a wild card so we kept our distance from him, plus, he is mated and focused on his family to be caught up with his sibling's love life. I couldn't keep those two apart because they were mated, I was only able to lessen the effect of the bond until they mated, Samuel and Dawn but it didn't go as planned when they got caught f*****g each other. Dawn doesn't know that Rave and Claire are true mates, they kept that from her and Claire helps her focus on her crush on Rave although it pained her to do that. Claire gives up her mate to be Queen, there is no turning back now. Rave gave up his mate, reputation, and home so Claire could succeed and one day help lift the ban so he could return home, he never raped anyone, all lies made up to sell the story, and loves Claire more than anything.

When I came home from hurting my sister, I felt horrible, I didn't see Claire in the same light but the next day, I was still so in love with her. I knew something happened that I didn't understand between Dawn and her but I needed the truth, that way, I could understand and fix the relationship so I could fix my relationship with Dawn. However, if Claire lied to me causing this rift, I would reject her and send her away, I don't tolerate serious lies like this, especially with my family. I looked at my son asleep in his crib, I love him but something felt off and I don't know what it was, after I met with Sol, I felt like I was going in the right direction, Rave was my best friend, and I should have given him the benefit of the doubt but he refused to defend himself in court. He accepted everything and I was forced to banish him to the realm of Ravena, barely with any magic or a way to come back to the underworld unless he died.

Dying and being banished to the underworld was different than being part of the underworld, being part of the underworld meant you were born here a demon, a dark angel, a fallen angel, or a dark witch. We also have other species who chose to be here over Ravena and those who die and are sent here, come here in spirit form, and the more evil they are, the longer their sentence. Those who have short sentences are reborn to get a second chance others are tortured for eternity because they are too dangerous to be let out. They are low-level demons and high-level demons, I am King of the Underworld, and everyone here answers to me eventually, or inadvertently. I was brought out of my thoughts feeling Claire massaging my shoulders, she asked, "Why are you still in the office at this hour?"

I didn't realize how late it was and she sat in my lap placing a kiss on my lips, I moaned as he slowly ground on my semi-hard c**k, and before the night was over, we had made sweet love to each other. The civil war was inevitable at this point, The supreme vowed to wipe them all out and I kept my distance, King Ridge had been looking for an enemy named, Fury. Sol did send his goons after me, I admit, he was smart, but I had ended up in Vampora because that is the only portal not watched. I reached the entrance to the cave and as I entered, I was knocked out, I woke up in a cell, I didn't know where I was and how long I had been there. I felt like I had a bad hangover with Sol until I heard footsteps and saw Sol look at me and say, "You are a hard man to track down." I smiled and said, "I was banished for doing unspeakable things to women, I just wanted to live what life I have left." I had aged, I looked like I was in my late fifties now although I was over a few hundred years old. Taking my powers away aged me, it was a death sentence and I hope Claire sent for me soon before I am no more. Sol said, "I will give you your youth back if you come clean about everything that happened," I knew I couldn't trust him but getting closer to death makes you think about betraying the one you love.
