Chapter 4: Broken friendships

I looked at Queen Claire fawning all over my brother playing with her son because that was not my brother's son, I was sure of it, but I needed proof. I got up, and I decided to go talk to Sol, this had been playing on my mind since Devon confessed to me about it, I felt a hand pull me back, and I looked at my boyfriend, who asked, "Where are you going, Princess?" I smiled, saying, "Looking for new ways to hang out with my sexy boyfriend," he smiled, and we walked back to the lake of fire, it was private and no one would be there. "Dawn, just tell Rave how you feel, he has been dating you a while now, he is a lord in the court, and your father won't mind letting him take your hand in marriage." Claire was right, and I knew I would have to tell him so he could go to my father eventually, plus, my brother would be taking over soon, so maybe, I could wait it out, and we continued relaxing at our little hangout spot. Samuel had a thing for Claire and I approved, she was my best friend, and I knew Samuel would consider her as a mate, and I would talk to him. Later in the evening, I decided to speak with Rave, he had a little cottage near the edge of the border, and he lived alone, I snuck away from my guard to meet him, I wanted to give myself to him, but not until we were sure we would get mated. I saw a little candlelight in the cottage and I smiled because he was home, I was ready to talk to him, admit my feelings for him, and turn the door knob.

I paused, hearing moans coming from the room, so I softly opened the door, my heart hurt thinking the worst and I saw Rave having Claire bent over on the dining table burying his huge c**k. She said, "She doesn't want to do it," I turned around and left, giving Claire the cold shoulder, Rave followed me out, yelling, "Wait, Dawn! Why are you refusing? We love each other and that is what you want, right?" I turned to him and said, "I wanted it, but I will never want you after you f**k my best friend," I saw Claire put her hand to her mouth, she was right behind him and I walked away. Claire ran to me and said, "It's not what it seems like," I slapped her in the face, shutting her up, I told her, "Stay away from me and stay away from Samuel, you will never be Queen a long as I live," walking away.

The next week, Rave was exiled after some rumors surfaced about him raping a few maids, but I don't think that happened. However, he was a liar and a snake, maybe it did happen but with Claire, it didn't, the maids mysteriously disappeared when I was looking for the truth. Honestly, despite being betrayed, I never believed he did that because what I saw with Claire, wasn't rape, plus, for some reason, there was blood in the sheets when she f****d my brother and claimed he was her first, 'bullshit.' She tried to apologize to me, but I kept my distance, she knew I knew the truth and wanted things to go back to normal. As the years passed, my father stepped down and never offered me up to mate with anyone, leaving it up to my brother. Claire eventually had Samuel where she wanted him, although he refused to mate her because I tried to persuade him not to, she let it be known that I was getting back at her after she tried to warn me about Rave and Samuel believed her.

I was brought out of my thoughts when Devon kissed my cheek and said, "We have been gone long," I agreed and headed back to the Palace. Devon stood outside the door, and I was shocked to see Queen Claire sitting and waiting on me, she smiled and said, "It's been a long time, we should chat more." I said, "Get out," she used her suppression on me, forcing me to submit to her, the Queen, she said, "I won't repeat it." I sat down facing her, and she gave me a little bottle with the tea that stops pregnancy, she said, "We can't have a bastard child running around," I wanted to kill her and drank the tea. She smiled and said, "Good, see, you are no different from me, loving the pleasure of men's c***s, practicing for when we were mated." I asked, "Why are you here?" She said, "For starters, I wanted to chat with my former best friend and sister-in-law," she saw I wasn't amused.

I ran to Sol's chambers where he had two women in his quarters and I said, "Get out," they left and Sol said, "I didn't entertain them if that's what you are mad about, plus, my wife and I have an arrangement." I said, "No, we can talk about that another time, Claire wants me to mate, Lord Darnley," Sol looked at me and I knew he knew, I looked at him in disbelief and asked, "What did Samuel do?"
