Chapter 14: Missing Her/Missing Him

Two & Half Years Later

Samuel

I was in bed next to Lylac after our love-making session, I had come home early from my duties, and I had missed Marion, I couldn't believe I would missed someone like this. I had the best year of my life with her even if only those close to me knew, I told Balthazar to be on the lookout for Joimar, he would be joining us soon, we don't think he would make it out of the Forbidden Lands but it had been awhile. It was over two years already and he wasn't here so he either made it or is somewhere else, Devon was promoted to one of my generals after proving himself, he was loyal like my brother, and he just had a setback that was taken care of in the end. I kissed Lylac as she was falling asleep and I went and showered, I closed my eyes thinking about how lonely I felt although someone shared my bed, and then I felt it, I was summoned.

I smiled because that was, Marion, however, I felt her pain, as she lost a son and a mate, I didn't want to pressure her to be with me so I did the only thing I could do and be her friend at a time like this. Balthazar went with me but was invisible just in case something went wrong, not that I couldn't take care of myself but it comes with the job. I wasted no time heading to our meeting spot, I saw the beauty by the tree, she always brought a smile to my face, I offered my condolences and assured her, that I would look into this entity that took her family and get back to her, I knew she needed to hear that, I pulled her into a hug and kissed her soft lips, I miss her but she needed a friend. I told her, "I miss you." I felt like I got hit with a boulder falling backward away from her, Balthazar was about to cut him with a sword but I linked him to stop.

It was her mate, I knew about him and I didn't care he showed up all of a sudden, I started laughing and getting off the ground, I knew I would have a battle on my hands because of who he was. He yelled at Marion, "This is how you intend to win my heart," I said, "Not my fault you can't keep or protect your women," he didn't like that after his people were killed and came towards me ready for a fight. I threw jabs at him because he wanted all the smoke and I was ready to give it to him, Balthazar backed away and Marion jumped between us to stop us from fighting. I knew she needed the space to talk to him, I saw the bond between them, so I backed off, and said, "I will take my leave," Balthazar asked, "Are you okay, Sammy?" I nodded and headed home, I knew I needed to let her go to save her mating and I would help in any way.

I reached home and told Balthazar, "This stays between us," when Dawn walked in and said, "Mom is missing," I turned to her and asked, "Ain't she with, Sol?" Balthazar headed out to get his brothers to search for her and I linked Sol who stated, "She told me that she was going to the market," I find that odd. Mom never goes to the market and we had a full search for her, my mother and father were going ballistic about their mate. Weeks later, nothing, also, I had promised to help Marion train her powers and went for her, Dragu was there not trusting me and I don't blame him. Marion was so genuine in offering to help when I told her about my mother's disappearance and then I still helped her train despite having a heavy heart about my missing mother. She was a natural and soon would be a force to be reckoned with if only I had her heart.

Sol's mother never disappeared like this before and we knew something was wrong, it had been months now, and as we were about to head to the surface, we saw her walking in and looking at us confused. She said, "Omg, how long was I gone?" My dad ran to her and said, "It has been two months, where were you? She said, "s**t, I forgot time moves differently down here, I went to visit a friend and no, I didn't cheat," as she kissed my parents. Sol looked at me, then our parents, and said, "So, you guys finally admitting you are all together," they smiled and walked off not answering us and we laughed knowing they were together. It wasn't a problem for us, we kept out of their lives and they kept out of ours as long as we ran the Kingdom properly.

Marion

Things have been a mess lately, I lost my husband and son to an entity I know nothing about, and I also found my destined mate in the process. I had been thinking about Samuel, I knew he could help me even though we had a history and broke off our affair on good terms. I knew he had fallen in love with me but I couldn't give up my home for him, I had too much riding on me being Queen of Volterra. Dragu was my mate, he was a Seer and Druid, the last of his people although we believe some are scattered across Ravena after the m******e. He knew about my affair with Samuel and I don't think he trusts me because of what Willix did to his people so I had to tread carefully to gain his trust and love. I was desperate for answers about my missing family so I had no choice but to find out what Samuel knew.

I walked over to the lake because I summoned Samuel, I wanted answers before I set off to win Dragu's heart, but I still held out hope of finding my son and Willix even if I had to give him up for Dragu. I have been mourning my loss but I need to be stronger so this doesn't happen again. Samuel appeared and offered his sincere condolences but he assured me, he would look into this entity and get back to me, maybe, there was still hope somewhere and I smiled as he hugged me and kissed my lips telling me, "I miss you." I felt him blown back by a power boost, it was my mate who was furious and Samuel started laughing getting off the ground. Dragu yelled, "This is how you intend to win my heart," Samuel said, "Not my fault you can keep or protect your women," I looked at them dumbfounded. Samuel throws jabs at him because he is chaos and I was so out of my element because this never happened before.

I snapped out of it real quick and got in between them telling them to stop before they seriously hurt each other and that it was not what it seemed like to Dragu. Samuel said, "I will take my leave," and warped out, Dragu looked at me and asked, "Why do you keep me around if you are going to sleep around?" I slapped him, he looked at me in shock and said, "Ouch, I guess I deserve that," before he walked away from me, I waited until I settled my head and headed over to where Dragu meditates. He looked at me with his eyes in a solid white color and say, "Marion, I am sorry if I offended you but if we are to mate, I need to trust you," I sat next to him holding his hand and promising to stay away from Samuel unless it was necessary and that he was no threat to us while also telling him about my history with the Demon King.

Weeks Later

Samuel invited me to the Underworld again and I refused because things would get complicated and he smiled promising nothing would happen. He explained there was a spell I needed to learn and it was safer doing it in the Underworld, plus, he had the information I needed to find out about. Dragu appeared and looked at Samuel when he backed off raising his hand and saying, "Nothing happened, Seer, I know she is your mate but she needs to do this," Dragu looked at me and pulled me into a kiss saying, "I will be here when you get back, I am trusting you, Marion, it's him I don't trust." I kissed him back saying, "I promise nothing will happen, I chose you," he backed off and I left with Samuel.

The Underworld

Samuel was quite busy looking for his missing mother but still had time to help me, I hoped she was okay and offered to help which he accepted so I contacted Nola who was on it. Dawn was busy with her kids but she helped us too and I walked over to where we would train. He had been interrupted by one of his loyalists, Lord Rave, handing him some information while one of his foot soldiers looked on, he reminded me of Devon so I can only assume it was his twin brother. They were identical but they had different mannerisms and colored eyes. Haru's eyes were dark gray while Devon's eyes were light gray, Haru had longer hair worn in a man's bun and Devon's hair was nicely cut and groomed. However, their symbols and tattoes were the same, if you don't know them, you would mistake one for the other.

I loved it here, it can be peaceful, well, on this side of the Underworld, I was training my powers and it can be draining when Samuel said, "You will have to merge with your mate soon." I looked at him and said, "I know, I'm just a bit hesitant, what if he changes with the power?" "I don't think he will because he is your fated mate and he is already powerful, I can feel it rolling off him," I smile because Samuel notices. I said, "So, Your Majesty, are you finally giving up on mating me?" He sat next to me saying, "You would be perfect for me, Marion, but I am not stupid, I won't go against your mate, he is much stronger than he looks. Plus, demons hate being above but we can compromise if we have to, also, I found out about the faceless demon, no one has heard of him in centuries, he is in nothingness for a reason, and he was able to breach it because someone in your camp played with dark magic, your baby was p*****t and Willix was a bonus."

My heart sank, and I felt sick, I knew this had Joimar written all over it and I looked at him saying, "I will never see them again," he said, "No because no one knows when the nothingness will open again. It could be centuries from now but I can build a calendar from when it opens and track it for the next opening." I agreed and hoped that my son was alive until he said, "However if we do get it open, there is no guarantee Willix or your son would be the same or alive," I nodded in understanding. I had already grieved them and looked at Samuel saying, "I'm ready to go." He pulled me in for a hug and said, "Don't forget my invitation to the ceremony," I closed my eyes and when I opened them, I was in a field where my mate was practicing his fighting skills. I watched him as it was fascinating to watch when he mind-linked me, "Do you love what you see?"
