Thankfully, as far as Galen was concerned, the first act rehearsal the next morning went very well. He even got a grudging compliment from Ricky who said, “Working scene one with you made me try harder with Cratchit.”
“Always a plus,” Galen replied. “And I mean it.”
“Yeah, I guess it is.”
Galen had the feeling afternoon rehearsals might not go nearly as well and he was right. He needed more prompting that he should have, which made him glad he’d be seeing Neal after the show that evening. For whatever reason, he seems to have a knack for getting me to learn my lines better and faster than anyone else I’ve ever worked with. And for damned sure there have been a lot of men who’ve tried.
