Chapter 17: While on their way

Princess Long Hua and Lady Meili walk hand in hand while talking casually in between them. When Crown Princess Long Fenghuang decided to live in the District of Heping, Princess Long Hua and Lady Meili gradually become quite close with one another. This bond is strengthened when both met their respective love one.

During her older sister's 14th birthday, Princess Long Hua met Diyu Zhi Huo for the first time. She found herself to be quite attracted to the handsome man. When her older sister founds out about it, she (as the mistress) made him accompany her while she was there. This has made her imperial father quite angry but, upon realizing that her older sister was staring at him then with a sweet smile on her lips, he immediately sat next to imperial mother in silence.

Their imperial father fears her older sister as much as he loves her. He always said that if he is just another stranger, her older sister will personally kill him countless time without any second thought. Which is quite funny to the rest of their family members when they heard about his underlying fear.

The more time that she spent with him, she seems to like him even more. And, when it times for her to leave, her heart was broken to pieces. But he asked permission from her imperial father, imperial mother and mother for him to keep in contact with her. Both her older brother and older sister agreed to it because they both saw how protective Diyu is towards their gentle younger sister. Imperial mother and mother happily agreed too. Imperial father did not say anything but, he was totally outnumbered and, knowing well how her older sister will act if he touches one of her people, he has to agree. A year later, they are engaged and Diyu Zhi Huo has been given a post as an Imperial Inspector by her royal father soon after. She has to thank her older sister for introducing Diyu Zhi Huo to her.

Lady Meili too is quite happy because it has been days since she last met with Captain Ying. When they first met, all she can see is how he truly and deeply cared for Crown Princess Long Fenghuang. The second time that they met was when she was suddenly abducted during one of her outings. She remembered that the bangle given by Her Royal Highness can be used to call for help. She diligently rubbed it while saying 'Captain Ying' repeatedly. Within seconds, he was kneeling in front of her. His face, then, showed nothing. No smile, no words. He was there solely because he was responsible for her safety as instructed by Her Royal Highness.

Nonetheless, she was so grateful for his help. She thought that was the end of it but, days later, he came for a visit because her foster father had personally invited him for a dinner. During dinner, she suddenly requested him to teach her basic martial arts because she would not want to trouble him any further. He just looked at her then and nodded his head. But, after meeting each other a few times, Captain Ying is a warm individual though he is not a man of word.

What makes their relationship becomes much more developed was when he was told of his true origin and lineage. It really affected him then, but she stayed by his side, and she repeatedly told him that he is lucky because his parents are still alive and are never far from him. He should give them a chance too. After all, his existence is significant in ensuring the relationship between his parents is repaired. Despite being an expressionless man, she founds herself to understand what is in his heart just by looking at him. For her diligence and non-stop pestering, he opens to her and, at times, acts quite possessive towards her which only make her smile and thought, "Such is a family trait..."

The Leng's royal siblings are walking behind the obviously happy pair in silence. First Prince Long Fenge and Fourth Prince Leng Yingjun are walking side by side and they are observing the opulent environment of the imperial palace. It is true that the Kingdom of Long is the richest kingdom due to its rich resources and countless talents. Second Princess Leng Yueliang and Third Princess Leng Moli are walking with their eyes fixed on Princess Long Hua and Lady Meili.

They do know that Princess Long Hua is the daughter of Imperial Noble Consort Mei and are engaged to be married to Imperial Inspector Diyu Zhi Huo whom once served under her older sister, Crown Princess Long Fenghuang. They also heard that she also has an adopted sister, Lady Congming, who used to be one of the personal maids of her older sister too but is now married to the Imperial Advisor Bing Zhongcheng. Crown Princess Long Fenghuang seems to be quite a significant and important figure in this kingdom.

In the Kingdom of Leng, the story where she nearly eliminated the Edu tribe 2 years ago was widely spread in their kingdom. The Kingdom of Long has a valiant princess with a cold personality while the Kingdom of Xi has a bloodthirsty heiress with a fiery personality. Both are said to be highly cultivated, but Lady Red is known to be more experienced on the battlefield. Nothing much is known about Crown Princess Long Fenghuang but they are always told not to slight her in any way. Both sisters’ shudder and dreaded their first meeting with her. But, for Third Princess Leng Moli, she is more jealous than worried. How could Imperial General Bing Xiaji love such a cruel princess? And, for her to force him to adopt a child too. Horrible! That Lady Red too. Yujinxiang is quite a striking young man but he is in love with a bloodthirsty girl. Second Princess Leng Yueliang is watching her younger sister and she can sense that this shallow girl is still not giving up on Imperial General Bing and Yujinxiang. She should just watch her be embarrassed by them. That will show her that the world doesn't revolve around her only. In their kingdom, all men are drawn to her beauty, but no one knows how spoilt she was. From the stories that she has heard, both Crown Princess Long Fenghuang and Lady Red are respected figures and known for their beauties, kindness and for being valiant.
