You're So Predictable

Samantha I couldn't help worry about all the bruises on Russell's face and body. I glanced at him diligently, wondering if I should have given him medicine for the pain. We placed our orders in, and we forgot about all of the stress that comes from college. We enjoyed a nice quiet time and talked about silly stuff. We laughed, joked around, and talked to each other as if we had known each other all our lives, but it was short-lived as the place began to get really packed. The bar inside was flooded by students from our college as a game of footfall began on the wide screens that hung over the bars. We all looked at each other contemplating if we should just make our food to go. "Guys, I am so sorry. They said this place had awesome food, that's why Russ and I thought this place would be a good spot. I wasn't counting on a game happening tonight." Brandon apologized, getting a pat on his shoulder by Kim. "It's ok. I mean, I don't mind if you guys don't mind." Kim added, and of course, she wouldn't mind. She has always been a big party girl. She loves the atmosphere, but I on the other hand? I could do more quiet places. My parents do way too many gatherings and parties. They attend far too many charity balls and such that I lost count of them ages ago. I somehow always found myself finding a quiet spot... away from everyone where I could breathe and relax from the loud people and the music, waiters with trays of food and drinks. That lifestyle is good to them, and lots of it has benefitted my parents to boost their business, but not me. And I know for a fact that my brother Mason is looking forward to taking over the business. As for me? I'm not sure what I want to do. I would love to travel the world and see many places before I have to settle down to the countless hours of paperwork behind a desk, but I know dad would beg to differ. If it was up to him, I would be taking over his company already. He is more than ready to retire, but given my mom's lifestyle, I don't think that could happen anytime soon. "What about you, Sam? Would you like to stay?" Russell asked looking at me with a gleam in his eyes. "Yeah, we can always change the order to go and eat indoors? We could go home, watch a movie... what do you think?" Kim added as the waiter came by with a second round of drinks for us. "Uhm, I guess if that is ok. We really don't have to leave, I mean, we rarely go out, or... At least I rarely go out with you guys." I started the facts chuckling. "We can hang out and see what the night has to offer," I added and smiled at them shrugging my shoulders. I grabbed a drink and took a sip. I was honestly not used to drinking, so I drank my beer slowly, babysitting my first drink, as Brandon says since they were all better drinkers than me. "Ok, then I guess we'll stay," Russell says as he smirks and drinks his beer as well. Our food finally arrived, and we all began to eat, despite all the noise. The more minutes passed by, the louder it got, and the more chaotic it became in the restaurant. I don't think there was a single empty chair in the restaurant, and the while bar inside was completely full; guys cheering, laughing, drinking, and eating their appetizers. "I'm gonna go get more drinks, would you guys like another round?" Russell asked as he stood up. I was barely halfway towards my third beer, but I was honestly feeling a light buzz already. I kind of liked it, to be honest. It made me feel a bit more relaxed, Russell and I began talking more and he was making me laugh so much. "I do, please. Thank you." I slurred my words, smiling at him. He nodded his head and leaned down to kiss my lips. I couldn't help but return the kiss, cupping his cheek and buying his bottom lip. Our kiss lasted but for a few seconds, but the way he titled his tongue with mine turned me on so bad. I closed my eyes as we parted, placing my forehead against his lips. He softly pressed a kiss on my forehead and left towards the bar. But I couldn't help giggling as Brandon and Kim gave that look that says we know, but you guys should still get together. God... Maybe I'm reading too much into it, right? Maybe it's the alcohol talking, and it's nothing. But how will I know unless I talk to Russell and know for sure what he really wants from me? "Looks like our house is winning, no wonder it's getting crazy in there," Russell says as he makes his way back with four more beers in hand. He hands one to each of us, and by now, I'm starting to drink them like water. My face is starting to feel hot, my whole body feels light as if I was floating, and everything around me looks so much cooler, even though everything is starting to spin. "Wow, Sam, slow down a little babe. You won't be able to get up for class tomorrow with the mean hangover you can experience." I giggle and chug it down anyway as Kim tries to sculd me. "I gotta pee real bad. I'll be right back," I announced as I stood up abruptly and almost knocked my chair over. Russell stood quickly and helped to keep me steady. "Careful, Sam. You want Kim to go with you?" he suggested, but I nodded and moved my finger across my face, " Nope. I know how to get there, I don't need babysitting. I'll be fine, I promise." I said taking a few steps towards the inside of the restaurant. I was surprisingly good walking towards the restroom, despite the fact I was feeling pretty tipsy. I went in and peed, feeling instant relief from my bladder. I stumbled my way towards the sink and grunted as I saw my reflection. I looked just as bad as the sleepless nigh5s I spent during my finals last year. My eyes were droopy, and I felt worst as everything around me kept spinning lightly. I shrugged it off and made my way out of the restroom, but I stopped and regretted my action right away as I see Craig coming towards the men's restroom. He smiled and bit his bottom lip as he sees me. I try to walk past him, but he grips my arm, pulling me back and making me hit the back of my head on the wall as he pushed me towards it. "Look at you, Sam? What would your mother think if she saw you in this state?" he says slowly placing his hand on my waist. I push it off and scuff, trying to move past him. "Whatever, Craig. What the hell are you doing here anyway? Your dorm was too dirty to go f**k your new girlfriend tonight?" I ask him mockingly, tilting my head to a side. Craig was not the tidiest of people that I can think of. His room was always a mess, just like his relationships. He chuckles, nodding his head and placing his hands on either side of my head, caving me between him and the wall. I rolled my eyes and crossed my hands over my chest. "Are we a little jealous perhaps? Tsk tsk tsk, not like you to be so jealous Sam. If I wasn't sure, I'd say you still have a crush on me, Sam. How's about we get out of here and go to my not so tidy dorm room? I'll show you how much you've missed me, and you don't even know it!" he suggested, making me feel the vile rise on my stomach. "God, you are so predictable, you know that? You're still the same asshole as you've ever been. I don't understand what my mother sees in you. You are so not my type, you've never been my type. I don't understand why I never saw that?" He bursts out in laughter, throwing his head back. "Oh, Sam. That was cute... But you and I both know that you will never have anyone better than me." he says as he looks at my lips, biting his bottom lip. He was starting to make me feel uncomfortable, making me shrink down in my spot. "Not even that asshole nerd of yours can compare to me. Why don't you just cut the crap, break up with that asshole and come back to me? I've always been good to you, and you know that!" he suggests. I roll my eyes and look towards the crowd. Everyone was too busy enjoying their time, watching the game, and drinking the night away. "Dream on, Craig. Russell is so much better than you. He will always be better than you, and when my parents finally meet him, they will see it too." I scrunched my nose in anger. Who the hell does he think he is? He was seriously starting to piss me off. "Oh, Sam... No one is better than me. Your mom will never accept any other man than me, and you know it. So go on, have your fun with him while you can. But by the end of our time, you will walk down an aisle and marry me. Unless you want your daddy's company to go down the drain? You know his company will not make it without our partnership sweetheart. If you refuse to marry me, my family will retract our agreement to partner up with your daddy's company." He says kissing me slightly on my lips. I move away, clenching my jaw. Why did my parents have to partner up with them? He was such a narcissistic asshole. I can't stand the sight of him. "So think about it, will you? I'll be here all night baby," he says, moving a list strand of my hair to the back of my ear. I close my eyes and take a deep breath as he leaves. My night was going so well, and though I was nervous, I was looking towards solving our situation between Russell and me, but now... All I wanted was to go home and sleep. To forget about this whole night and the fact my mom kept insisting I married Craig. I can't believe she is so blinded by him. We are obviously not compatible with each other. I don't see myself getting married to him, and I hope that she doesn't keep pushing the subject when I go home to see them for Thanksgiving. ?✨??✨??✨??✨?
