Hazel "I love you. Just like before. Nothing has changed," His voice was soft, like silk as he gazed at her with his dark eyes. Those dark eyes that captivated her soul. He leaned in and pressed his lips on her forehead. Her body knew that feeling, still remembered that feeling but her heart...it immediately pulled the guards up, shriveling back in fear and disgust that broke her down to pieces six years ago. The brunt of which she was still bearing. He gazed at her and it become even more difficult for her to breathe, her lungs fighting for some air.  "Bye, sweetie!" He waved at Summer, and gave her another of his looks, the look that six years ago she fought to see and looking at which now she wished she wouldn't have tried so hard, before he walked out. Hazel slammed the door shut as soon as he stepped out and pressed her back against it as myriad emotions raked through her.  She flopped down on the floor and placed her face in her hands as the hysteria broke through her, unspeakable pain flooding through her body, the same pain she felt that day as Sofia slapped the reality of her life, of her feelings on her face. It was unbearable and she realized that even six years was not enough to forget that...or him. She knew she couldn't face him. She knew it would be too much for her. But too much meant this much, Hazel had no clue about that. To explain in words what she felt was impossible.  She thought she would never see him ever again and that she has left all the pain and the memories of the past with him. But here she was again...here he was again, facing each other after six long years. And Hazel knew this wasn't the last of him. She will see him again and again the searing pain of betrayal would tear through her. Why does he have to come back after six year? Why does he had to have such a hold on her to still to effect her this much? By now she should have learnt her lessons and he wouldn't have mattered a damn to her but here she was, heart pulsating so hard like she has been running for miles, tears refusing to stop, her body shaking like a twig...he was still as much in her heart as he was six years ago.  "Mommy?" Summer's voice was filled with concern and Hazel reluctantly looked up at her. Her eyes widened and she reached out with her tiny hands to wipe her tears.  "Are you sick, mommy?" She asked, her sweet face etched with concern. "Are you sad again? But daddy will come home...you don't have to be sad, mommy..."  "Summer...do you really want your daddy?" Hazel whispered. Summer stared at her blankly and nodded her head.  "Summer loves daddy and mommy," She answered and Hazel closed her eyes. She hasn't even seen him and yet she loved him so much. How was that even possible? How could they just run into each other like that? So it was Damien because of whom Summer was so adamant on going to the park again this morning. It was her who dragged him all the way here. The connection between them was something that was natural. Because no matter how much she hates that, she was a part of him too. Of course, there was a connection. A connection deeper than anything.  "Even if daddy hurts mommy?" She asked and Summer's eyes widened. She looked scared this time.  "Is daddy a bad guy, mommy?" Summer whispered. "Bad guys who will take me away if I go to the park alone?" Hazel stared at her and shook her head.  "No, no...sweetie, daddy isn't a bad person at all," She answered, tracing her cheek. "Daddy loves Summer. He is a good guy," She can't do that to her or him because regardless of whatever he did to her, Hazel could see Damien's love for Summer and it baffled her ever more. Wasn't he the same guy who was averse even to the idea of kids? How wasn't he jumping at the sight of Summer? Instead of that, why he was going about saying my daughter? It was just plain baffling.  "Come on, let's go to bed. You have to get up early and meet Daddy, isn't it?" Hazel wiped her eyes and gave her daughter a smile, who nodded her head vigorously.  "Mommy, can I sleep with you?" She asked. Hazel nodded and picked her up in her arms as she headed towards her room. Something told her, they won't be just the two of them for a very long time and the thought scared her. It scared her exceedingly.  "Mommy?" Summer was almost asleep beside her as she softly patted her head.  "Hmm..." She said and she hoped she won't end up asking one of her questions that she will have no answer to.  "Do you love daddy too like you love me?" She asked, staring at her through sleepy eyes. Yes, again a question she have no answer to.  "Because I love you. I fell in love with you,"  "Do you not love, daddy?" Summer repeated and Hazel closed her eyes. She wanted to say no. She wanted to tell her daughter that once upon a time she did love her father with every cell in her body but now she hated him with just as fervor. Summer will never understand where she was coming from. And for her sake, she needed to hold her emotions back. Hold herself back. Damien was right about one thing, whatever it was...it was between them. And they will deal with it. Summer need not be a part of it.  "Yes, sweetie," She whispered and it took every ounce of strength in her body to get the next words out. "Mommy...mommy loves daddy too," She glanced at Summer and she wasn't even listening. She has already fallen asleep.  "I am not claiming anything. I know she is mine daughter and I want her in my life,"  "You know how badly she wants her father. Whatever it is...it's between us and we will deal with it like adults. But she is my daughter too. I missed six years with her Hazel and I am not blaming you. Not even once. But now that I know...I am sorry but I can't stay away. I will be back tomorrow morning because it's my daughter's birthday. And she will meet her daddy tomorrow...as promised,"  Hazel glanced at Summer and she pulled her closer to her. She didn't like the way Damien claimed her. She didn't trust him an ounce. What...what if he tries to take Summer away from her? How will she live without Summer? She will die. Summer was the only strength that kept her going. If he tries to take her away, and Hazel knew he could. He was too filthy rich and powerful for her to fight him. She can't afford that. She can't afford to loose Summer. She will go down on her knees in front of him if she has to but she wasn't ever ever giving up on her daughter. Not in hell. If it comes to a fight, then she will fight.  contd...
