It was all clear in her head. She will abort the child, move to her grandmother's place in the small charming town of Stowe and start a new life. Away from the crazy crowd of New York city, away from the hustle and away from him. As far away from him as possible. She has always loved the place when she was kid. She loved the mountains, the tourists, the colorful little town and the cheerful little home of her grandmother. She never expected that she will leave it to her instead of her father but now that she had a place to live, Hazel was determined to just erase the life she had and start afresh. It was all planned and set. But the moment she laid her eyes on the small blip on the monitor, the little life inside her...she knew she can't do it. She cannot destroy a life even if it was a part of him. Because, like it or not, it was as much a part of her too.
And that's how it all started. Her new life in this small little town with its friendly people. It was hard. It was as hard as it could get. She knew giving birth wasn't easy. But she didn't know it was this hard. The morning sickness, the nausea, the cramps...she was terrified trying to deal with all that alone and she has never wished for her mother to be there as much as that time. There would be days when she would broke down completely, almost giving up on how hard life was getting.
But at the end, it was all worth it as she held her. The small life that grew inside her. And she was baffled at how much she was like him instead of her. Even now as she sometimes watches Summer, she reminds her of him. She was as impatient and stubborn as him. As inquisitive and smart. It was like she was a copy of him. And just like that, she couldn't help but love a part of Damien with everything she has too. Just like she did before.
All these years, Hazel tried her best to give Summer a good, comfortable life. She worked multiple jobs just like earlier to make the ends meet. And though Summer was not a demanding child, she has made sure that she can give her daughter everything she desires. But despite that, she knew she was depriving her. Her father was a f*****g billionaire. He can give Summer the life that Hazel can't even imagine. She will want for nothing. But no matter what, Hazel was clear in her head. Damien will never find out about Summer. He has nothing to do with her. And she doesn't trust him either. And apart from all that, she was not and she never will be ready to face him again. She hates him so much that it might bring out a side of her that she definitely doesn't wants Summer to ever see.
"Haze?" Ted called her and she took a deep breath and turned her face to him. He frowned at her and lazily walked inside, flopped down on the bed beside her.
"What's wrong?" He asked and Hazel shrugged.
"The same thing," She answered. "Its her birthday next week...and she wants her father. Why? Why does she needs a father? Am I not doing enough? Am I not enough to make her happy?" Hazel knew Summer doesn't understands things in such depths so it was not about her being enough or not. She felt it was more like peer-pressure.
"No, Haze. You are more than enough and Summer loves you," Ted said softly, rubbing her back. "But you know how it is...she sees other father's dropping off their kids and stuff, of course she longs for a father,"
"I know," Hazel nodded. "And I know I am letting my emotions come in the way of her happiness but...I am helpless. There's nothing I could do here. It's been six years. I cannot go back now and tell him that he has a daughter. I mean think about where I will stand? The last thing I want is for him to offer me his filthy money and trust me for him, it's all about money. He thinks he can buy the world with his f*****g money. No...I can't. I can't do it. I don't want to. Eventually, I will have to make Summer understand that not every child needs a father. I am her father,"
"Okay, calm down...you are doing it again," Ted said. "Are you not taking your medicines?"
"I am," Hazel took deep breathes, as she tried to calm her frantically beating heart. Damien Hamilton ruined her in ways she never imagined. She has no idea one person could do such damage to another and every time his name comes up, she loses it. She hated him just as much as she loved him or even more. His name was enough to push her to the precipice of panic attack.
"Look, let's not think about all that now. Summer is just a child. I am sure we can make her forget about that with I don't know chocolates and toys," Ted said. "It will all be fine. Come on, let's have breakfast before she comes looking for you. Gather yourself, you are strong,"
"Yeah," Hazel nodded gratefully. "Thanks Ted," Ted patted her back before disappearing and Hazel sighed. She gingerly walked over to her room and pulled out a small piece of paper, a newspaper cutting from two or three years ago, tucked in the deep depths of her wardrobe.
Brothers On A Mission: Taylor And Hamilton Industries Join Hands For The Worlds Largest Sustainable Venture... She bit her lip as she fought her tears and the burning hate inside her. In the end, the brothers did get what they wanted. And just like that Hazel Connery, the girl they pawned in their filthy game was forgotten.
"You know me...do I look like the monogamous type to you? I just have my plans...there's a game I need to win. And it's all a part of that,"
"Damien brought your body with fifty million dollars,"
Hazel felt the familiar pain in her heart rising and choking up her as it became difficult to breathe. She clutched at her chest as she haphazardly fumbled around for her inhaler. Tears sprang to her eyes as she struggled to breathe while looking for it. Damien Hamilton damaged her in inexplicable ways. And for that, she will never, never ever...
Forgive him...

A/N: Okay reader's so this was it. Lol, I am so crazy nervous about your reaction like literally. Personally, I don't like the whole accidental pregnancy trope because that thought gives me serious creeps. I tried all sorts of theories but this was the one that fits the most as we need something to bring Hazel and Damien together and what's better than a sweet little daughter? Plus, I wanted to see how Damien would do as a father lol. But I hope you like the chapter guys and that hopefully it's a good start. There will be laughter and tears and passion and of course suspense in this one. Since this series will be the last work for this year 2021, I want to make it count. Hazel's character might annoy you a little bit but I still hope you like the story.
Also @Jessica Williams thank you for patiently explaining about five year olds. Lol, I don't know how five year old kid is supposed to be but I tried my best so.
Also I have a few questions to ask of you guys.
1) Is there any changes that you will suggest in Book 1 or anything that you feel will take the reader's attention away?
2) Since I have to add it to PTR eventually, I am not very sure but would you guys have paid to read TGOL?
Thank you so much once again for all your support and love!
Happy reading!
