Okay readers, I think there is some confusion regarding why Hazel is reacting out to Damien. So before we move further into the chapter, I think I should explain this part so that it wouldn't create any confusion for the further chapters.

So, the thing that you guys are confused about is that why is she reacting when she signed the contract herself? 

Here is the explanation: The contract that Hazel signed NEVER said anything about the game. What her contract said was that after three months all she need to do was say "I love Damien Hamilton' to whoever it needed to be said and that was the reason why she was being paid the money. That was all. So when she saw the actual contract between Richard and Damien, of course it would shatter her. 

1. Whoever among both the parties can make the subject of the deal, named Ms. Hazel Connery, fall in love within three months will be the ultimate owner of the Dubai Millenium Deal. 

2. Party A will have the right to the subject in forms s****l and as party A deem fit. 

3. Part B DO NOT have the right to engage in any s****l act with the subject until as asked by party A. 

In this contract, that Damien charted, she ie the subject is being used as an object in a game, the rules of which is set by Damien. Tell me something readers, no matter how much a man loves you...will you ever forgive him if he objectifies you as something to be used for fun? 

Secondly, what Sofia said added with the video she showed further fueled it making it look like Damien was using her for her body. The video was before she met him, but Hazel doesn't know that of course. 

Thirdly, Richard's confession that Damien started it also added to the blow. 

Of course, Hazel should have confronted Damien about this because getting a man like him to say I love you after he already pushed her away once speaks volumes about the sincerity of his feelings but also this came to Hazel as a sudden blow which effected her way of thinking. Had Damien explained it himself instead of her finding out the twisted version Sofia presented, she would have understand. 

Lastly, Hazel was already around two weeks pregnant when this happened which means her emotions where heightened and she was at a more complicated and sensitive place than she normally would have been. 

In my opinion, they both messed up, Damien more than Hazel, of course. Had they sincerely and honestly communicated this would not have happened. Damien was too afraid of being vulnerable and Hazel took Sofia's word for face value before trying to understand things. 

So, I hope this explains the confusions arriving as to why Hazel is reacting to Damien? This is my opinion based on which I formed book 2, of course you guys can have your own interpretations. But Damien needs to redeem for what he did because whatever he started despite the change that happened in him was disgusting to begin with.
