Chapter Twenty-Five
The MX 60 lifted out of the back of the Argo. Jia and Erik had found it surprisingly easy to arrange a single-day trip to Earth with minimal explanation. They’d moved forward based on the previous plan, with everyone but the engineers staying on Troy. Whatever small amount of guilt Jia had left over had vanished with the knowledge that they weren’t keeping secrets from their main team.
A little selective omission up the chain-of-command had stopped bothering her back when she was still a detective and Erik had brought her in on his quest to fight the Core. The ID and the DD kept secrets from them, and they repaid the favor. For now, it worked to keep everyone sane.
