Seri's POV

"The prince is coming" Annie said.

My brows furrowed confused.

"Excuse me but what?" I said confused.

Annie clung onto my arm. It was as if her eyes were sparkling with glee.

"The Prince of Werewolves is the one coming today, silly. Didn't anyone tell you yet?" Annie said. My mouth gaped open for s moment.

"No. No one told me about any prince. I was only told that it was someone very important. I did not think that someone would be royalty" I said still in shock.

Annie laughed. I guess it’s quite hilarious to have such a clueless best friend huh.

"Well, now you know" she said giggling.

Then, Annie looked at me up and down.

"And so, I would suggest that you get dolled up to impress. We never know; his highness might take a liking to us" she told me with playful tone accompanied with a teasing wink.

"Why would I need to do that? If anything, I should hide from seeing any royalty. And take a liking to us? Maybe you but me? I’m nothing but an eyesore, Annie" I said.

"First of all, you are not an eyesore. Stop saying such things. You’re really pretty, Seri. Second, why would you hide from royalty?" she asked me with furrowed brows.

"Because I don't want to be the one who does something embarrassing and ruin things for everybody else" I explained.

"Oh please. What's the worst that can happen, Seri?" Annie said.

"A lot of things, Annie" I answered.

Annie shook her head with a chuckle.

"Oh come on. Why don't you just finish up so you can start to freshen up like everybody else" she said.

I sighed and nodded.

I started to finish up and once everything was settled, Annie dragged me back to the rooms and into the bath area.

"You go on ahead and shower while I pick out your clothes" she said and before I could even reply, she left in a hurry.

I just sighed and took another shower since I probably already reek of sweat from moving around the orphanage since this morning.

After I showered, I dried myself up with a towel and then covered myself with it.

"Are you done yet?" Annie spoke from outside the bathroom.

"Yeah" I said and slightly opened the door for her.

"Here" she said and gave me a set of folded clothes.

I immediately recognized one of the pieces as the dress she had given me for my birthday.

"You want me to wear a dress? Really?" I said.

Annie nodded with adetermine expression.

"Yes. I got you that dress to wear on a special occasion. Of course, today is that day" she said.

"But Annie" I said.

"Come on now, Seri. I still need to put a bit of makeup on you" she said before closing the bathroom door on my face.

I pursed my lips and looked at the dress.

I just sighed. I guess I don't really have a choice.

I ended up wearing what Annie picked out for me and then went out.

I then went to the bedroom and saw Annie by my bed.

Annie turned her head to look at me and I could have sworn that I saw her eyes sparkle when she saw me.

"You look gorgeous, Riri" she said.

I blushed.

"Come here. Let's dry your hair and do your makeup" she said.

I nodded and walked over to her.

Annie made me sit down on the bed and she plugged in her hair dryer before blow drying my hair.

"Can you imagine it? The prince coming here in the orphanage. What a dream" Annie said dreamily.

I chuckled.

"I'm surprised that an individual like himself is willing to travel so far just to visit our orphanage" I voiced out.

"I heard that the royal family is making it a thing of theirs to visit and accommodate different werewolf shelters and orphanages nowadays" Annie explained.

I nodded.

"I also heard that it was the Queen and the Princess' idea" she added.

I nodded again in understanding.

"So why isn't the Princess the one visiting instead of the prince?" I asked curiously.

"I don't know either. My guess is they divide the work or something? I’m pretty sure there are thousands. If not, hundreds of shelters and orphanages both big and small in the kingdom. And there are only 5 members in the royal family" Annie said.

Well, that makes sense.

Annie finished drying my hair and she plugged in another hair tool before grabbing her big pouch of makeup.

"Remind me again why we're getting all dolled up today?" I asked Annie again feeling hesitant as I saw her preparing so many of her makeup.

"Because we need to make a good impression, Seri" Annie said.

"And putting on a ton of makeup is equivalent to making a good impression?" I asked confused.

"Well, if we're pretty enough, the prince might take a liking to us remember?" she said.

My brows furrowed a bit as Annie held my chin up to start doing my makeup.

"Yeah right. Doesn't he have a mate or something?" I asked curiously.

"I'm pretty sure he hasn't found his mate just yet" Annie told me.

"Oh? Really? That’s unfortunate" I said.

Annie nodded as she started doing my makeup.

"Yeah. Maybe that's part of the reason why he's also traveling all around doing all these because he's trying to find his mate" she said with a shrug.

That would also make sense.

"If he's trying to find his mate, shouldn't he be looking in like prestigious werewolf families or like well-known packs in the kingdom? I highly doubt that royalty like him would find his mate in a shelter or an orphanage. That would just be odd" I said.

"I heard he did but he didn't find his mate there so he's going to more secluded and far away places to try and find his mate" Annie explained.

I nodded as I processed the information Annie was telling me.

Annie continued doing my makeup and after that she curled my hair into big wavy curls.

"Is this really necessary?" I asked getting tired already of all the 'dolling up' we were doing.

I was never one to put too much effort in my appearance. I felt like it was nothing but a waste of time really.

As long as I looked presentable enough, that's already fine with me.

I didn't exactly have anyone to impress or anything of the sort. After all, I was only ever surrounded by pups and the orphanage staff.

"We have to give it our all today. Who knows? Maybe one of us is actually the prince’s mate" she said with another playful wink.

"That's unlikely. Impossible for me even" I said.

"Still" Annie insisted.

I chuckled.

After a long time of getting all dolled up, Annie finally finished doing my hair and makeup.

Annie made me stand up and looked me up and down.

"Can you slowly turn around for me?" she said.

I nodded and slowly turned around just like how Annie asked me to.

I still didn't get the point of doing all this but it seemed to make Annie happy, so I just complied to her requests and sucked it up.

"You look absolutely breathtaking, Seri" she told me.

I immediately blushed at the compliment.

"The prince would be lucky if you end up being his mate, Seri" she suddenly commented.

Annie has always been the kind of friend who constantly gave me reassurance whether it be with my physical appearance, my mental and emotional state and whatever it may be.

I chuckled and playfully rolled my eyes making us both giggle.

I highly doubt it.
