COLT’S POV: I know something has been done to me—but what? Funny enough, I trust Stacey, a person whom I just met twice for only a short period of time, more than Alpha Orion, who’s been a father figure to me, about this matter. I call Stacey, and she gives me her address without hesitation, as if she has been waiting for me to come to her. The door to Stacey’s mansion swings open, revealing her. She’s more radiant than how I saw her earlier, but there’s a gravity in her gaze that makes me uneasy. I follow her through the elegant living area where a baby’s gurgle draws my attention. A little girl, with striking gold eyes and dark curls, playing with stuffed toys on the plush carpet with her wolfless nannies. Stacey smiles down at her, and I feel a pang of emotion I can’t quite name. “
