Cory was cute just then, in a way that Savannah had never expected he could be. She’d thought of him as many things; quiet, serious, a little weird and distinctly edgy. Edgy to the point he might be trying too hard, in fact. But, the way he’d started tracing a swirl pattern on the countertop to avoid looking at her as he waited for her response, and the faint color to his cheeks, changed her perception of him. He was shy; disarmingly so. If Savannah had taken the time to consider the offer, she probably would have said no out of hand, but she was awfully tired, and his newfound shy mannerisms had completely distracted  her.
