In the morning, Alexi made his way out to the kitchen for coffee just as Roach came out of his room, wearing his exterminator uniform. All the swelling from the wasp stings had disappeared, but there were dark circles under his eyes. “Good morning, Lex.” Without meeting his gaze, Alexi poured himself coffee from the coffeepot. Obviously Roach had been out to make the coffee earlier. “Good morning. Sleep well?” Roach yawned. “Well enough. Pour me one, too, will you?” He nodded and took out another mug from the cabinet.
