Author’s Note: Readers often ask writers how they get their ideas. I don’t always know how mine spring up, but I do recall how this one came to be. For some time I’d felt Tie ˋEm Up, Hold ˋEm Down needed a sequel—a story that included Dane and Bear with their search hounds, Cinnamon and Blood, but in a somewhat lighter tale, with less angst. Every year, someone from My Window Man, Inc., arrives to clean our windows, and it occurred to me that a window washer as a lover would be fun. So casual, lighthearted, but smart Boon Andrews, with earrings and lots of colorful tattoos, was born. He’s the perfect contrast to the more serious Ryan Halloran, a successful Hollywood film company exec with personal and business problems.
