REINER There was something wrong with Becky. She had not been much herself, health-wise, since we had returned from our vacation, but now ... she was getting worse. She was always tired, pale, and with little to no energy: and as much as she said it was just the heat, or work, I couldn't quite believe it. After all, the busy season for events and weddings had ended - it was now late August, and almost everyone and their mother was away on vacation.
