BRYAN WAS SITTING IN his idle car in front of Becka’s house. He had been sitting there for almost fifteen minutes already and still couldn’t find his courage to get out and ring her doorbell to let her know that he had arrived.
He was wearing his dress pants and a white shirt, although he wasn’t very sure that it was the right attire to meet her entire family. He had thought of wearing his best dress suit at first, but the evening was too hot, and he didn’t think he could wear a coat. Besides, he absolutely hated wearing a tie. It always felt as if someone strangled him, and he already felt his throat was a little too tight. He didn’t want to add more to his discomfort.
