24. Mutant Spiders

Nikolas and Victor are in Corbins' office when we get there.

Dipak and Marcus wheel the gold in.

Nikolas's eyes go dark. I forgot I was in the baby making outfit. I sit on the conference table by Victor.

Camilla runs over and sits by me.

Then Corbin, Elek, and Tobias come in.

"Woman, let's go check their fields."

Tobias helps me off the table. "Thank you sir."

"My pleasure." He kisses my hand.

Elek's eyes go red and Corbin grabs me. "I'll escort you to the field. I like this office."

"That might be a good idea."

Corbin lets me go after we get to the field. He goes to Camilla. "I'm sorry."

"It's ok. I like the castle too." She pushes him out of the way, so she can see.

I whisper to Dipak, "I seem to be having some boy issues, sir."

"Yea I can see that." Then he yells, "WHY ARE THE FIELDS EMPTY?"

Corbin shrugs his shoulders. "We have no idea, we took everything."

Dipak summons plants and I make them grow.

The servants run out collecting it.

I jump up and down. "OLIVE TREE."

He laughs and starts putting weird s**t everywhere. I grow it all. I love doing this.

I feel a hand on my stomach. Elek is reaching for me, but he's not paying attention. He's talking to Victor.

I move to him, and he slides his hand over my stomach and to my back. "Can you grow a couple of banana plants? He likes them."

"Sure."

Dipak rolls his eyes. "Yes sweetheart?"

"I need a banana plant."

He puts a few by the entrance to the castle and I grow them. "Thank you."

"Yea, we're going back now."

Opal comes out of nowhere. "YOU DIDN'T GIVE ME BLUE?" She starts sobbing.

Victor runs to her. "What baby?"

"I LIKE BLUE. BLUE'S MY FAVORITE COLOR."

"You can have blue. You can have everything blue."

Marcus laughs. "The people are going to be blue here soon."

Victor nods. "Blue everything."

"AHHHHH SPIDER."

I run for it. I grab the first boy I find and climb him. All the way to his shoulders.

"f**k SHE MUST HAVE GROWN IT."

This spider stands 2 feet tall. "KILL IT."

Marcus hits it with an orb and it explodes.

"Thank you." I'm on Victor.

Opal is on Elek. Camilla is on Dipak.

I climb down. "I'm sorry. I don't like..."

A bunch of servants start screaming in the field.

"NOPE." I run for the first door I see. Camilla and Opal are right behind me. And we are back in my castle 1 second later. "Bring 100 brains here."

Everyone is back at the table.

"Kill any spider that stands more than 2 inches off the ground." I send them right to where we came from. "I accidentally grew the spiders. They are like up to my knee now. Anyone who wants to go help, can."

Tye cracks up laughing. "Mutant spiders, babydoll?"

I nod fast.

Kane stands up. "Yea, we probably don't want those reproducing."

Daddy stands up. "This is worth seeing."

Daddy, Dracul, Gunner, Tye, Johen, Tre, and Kane leave through my door.

I sit at my end of the table. Camilla and Opal sit by Thora and Coral.

"They are so big."

I nod. We sit silently.

A half hour later, the boys come back.

They are all covered in blood and goo. Elek is covered in what looks like pumpkin. The more I look at them the more I see weird s**t they are covered in.

Dipak shakes his hair out. "I left the brains you sent. Make sure we got them all. It wasn't only the spiders, it was every living thing in the field."

Dracul pulls something green off his arm. "That was the biggest snake I've ever seen."

Marcus shakes off pumpkin seeds. "We've fought actual wars that weren't that hard."

A chunk of watermelon falls off Tye. "I'm going to go shower now."

They all get in the elevator.

Elroy busts out laughing. "Imagine the guards on the 5th floor as they walk from 1 elevator to the next without saying anything."

We all laugh.

A half hour later, we're back at the table.

"Why did that happen? It has never happened like that before."

"Our fields are taken care of. The servants are in them constantly. The fields over there were overgrown and taken back over by the spiders and a few snakes. I didn't think about it. It looked like it had been 10 years since they even tried to plant anything."

"The spiders were already big. You made them huge, my princess."

"The servants are clearing the fields of food. The brains are watching so none of them get attacked by any crazy large things, and are also killing anything crazy large that we may have missed. But I think we got it all."

"Kind of hard to miss a 2-foot tall spider."

"Once the fields are cleared, I will go back over and fill them again. But we're going to let it grow on its own. Other than grain. They need more grain. Even the village is suffering. But that field is good. I think they tried to take grain seriously before."

Camilla stands up. "Please stop saying they. The princes didn't do anything they didn't have to. It was the other people that were horrible. The boys killed them. They are trying their best. They have no idea what the hell they're doing. But they are willing to starve before they kill anyone else. The people you talk about like 'they' are not the princes. They are not in command anymore. His dad was horrible. He would kill anyone for disagreeing with him. He cared about nobody. So he ended up with a whole table of people that were power hungry and as evil as he was. His mates would sleep with anyone to get information for him. They never cared about him or anyone else. They were out to help themselves. They would look the other way and let the king do whatever he wanted. I wouldn't doubt it if his mate knew that torture room was in their closet. The table and the monsters mate even decided who the boys' girlfriends were. The girlfriends were as vicious as the table. They would go around sleeping with everyone like the monster's mate did. But those 3 boys hated their assigned girlfriends. I don't think any of them ever touched 1 of them. And if a girlfriend messed up she would be killed and replaced too. Corbin made the comment at therapy that their dad had f****d their assigned girlfriends... How?... You can't imagine how bad it was. Now the boys are trying. Please help them, they don't know anything else. They are doing their best. And please stop saying 'they' like the boys were part of that command. The boys were trying to survive. Please separate the 2. It breaks Corbin's heart when he hears that. The boys weren't part of that command. They had no control. Please give the boys a chance before you group them into that monster's command... The boys just want a real chance. I'm sorry." She sits back down.

Then Dipak nods. "Brains red room us for the Blayze brothers."

"It is done. They see you all, sir."

"We've seen enough of Belaye that we will give the boys a chance to prove their different at ruling a castle and village... We can not condemn them for being born to a monster and forced to survive in conditions that are unimaginable to most of us. The boys will no longer be associated with Belaye's table..." He takes Frodes' paper. "All crimes committed by Corbin, Victor, and Nikolas are pardoned. Belaye will also be referred to as Belaye only. All titles, royalty and otherwise are removed immediately. When speaking of King Blayze, it will refer to King Corbin Blayze from this point forward. Any questions or objections?"

We shake our heads.

Frode brings me the paper and I sign it. Dipak signs it.

"Motions approved by the king and queen. Moving to the final count." It goes all the way around the table and back to Frode.

"Any and all mentions of Victor, Corbin, and/or Nikolas at Belaye's table are officially removed. All crimes previously committed by Victor, Corbin, and/or Nikolas are officially pardoned. All titles, including royal titles, are officially removed from Belaye. These motions passed unanimously and are put into effect immediately."

Camilla stands up. "I need a drink."

I stand up. "I 2nd the drinking."

Dipak glances out the window. "It's not even lunch yet."

"Those were huge spiders."

"I think you can make it a little longer." We sit down. "Camilla and Opal, you are free to go home whenever you are ready."

Camilla shakes her head. "I don't want to."

Me, Opal, and Thora nod.

Thora looks at him. "I think they live here now."

Dipak shakes his head. "You can not live here because of a spider. You have mates at another castle."

"I'm sure they'll be fine."

Dipak rubs his eyes. "Someone go get Victor and Corbin. Prince Tobias, what did you need?"

I connect with Thora over the mind link and tell her all about Tobias and Elek.

She looks between Elek and Tobias so many times. -I really couldn't pick between the 2.-

-Tobias never showed any interest in me. I mean none. Then today he showed up and was mad about Elek. It was weird.-

-He was showing interest. You are blind unless a man tells you he likes you. I told you he touched your hand that first day.-

-Oh he was taking the box.-

-See you're still blind.-

I give her a dirty look and Dipak clears his throat. Thora thinks -Oh what the hell does that jackass want now?-

I crack up laughing so hard.

Then Thora laughs. "Sorry."

"Close the mind link."

I disconnect it and try to stop laughing.

"Everyone, we are late for lunch. The spider fiasco was a disaster. I am canceling the afternoon meeting, so people can work on their own stuff. But do not leave the castle. You may get summoned back if anything else happens. Victor and Corbin feel free to take your mates home or eat lunch with them here. I don't really care, but they can't live here. Elroy and Elek, you are free to go home if you wish, if you don't live here already. Tobias, I believe your questions were answered. You are free to go, or have lunch and discuss the inns."

We run for it.
