67. Stalkers

I wake up halfway through the morning and stretch. Then the girls start stretching.

"Wow. No one carried us to a bed."

"Yea, they watched us sleep here." Elkie points at the guards.

I roll my eyes. "Now that was nice of them."

Thora yells, "HEY LOOK, THEY ARE NOTIFYING THE ASSHOLE ALREADY."

Sure enough, the guards' eyes are glazed over. I wave my hand at her. "Like 1 or 2 days. We can make it. We'll stay away from the village. I only have to check my patients, and they can't follow me on the boat."

"That's true. I'll throw them off if they try."

We fly to the boat with the girls on us. Then we take showers and dress in Tye's island dresses. I wear the white and sea glass dress.

After lunch hour is over, we fly to the village. We land at the medical area. I don't think anyone saw us. It's pretty empty today.

Thora smacks my arm and I look at the girl behind the desk. Her eyes are glossed over.

I roll my eyes. "Wow."

"Yes, that is ridiculous. Hurry and check your patients, we'll get out of here."

I check Hugh first. Omar and Ronion are in his room.

"Good afternoon. Were you able to eat some lunch?"

"Yes. And they keep making me drink blood."

"Once we get you back to the castle, they will ease up on that. But for now, we have to be careful. Does your wolf feel more awake now?"

"Yea, he's excited. Wants me to try and shift as a vampire werewolf."

"I'll step out and check on Charma. You can try it. I'll be back in a few minutes. Let me know how it goes."

"Thank you."

Charma's neck is still open, but it's a lot better. I get Elkie to help me flip her over, then I start the regular blood drip.

Elkie smiles. "Perfect."

"Yep. Can you stay and take care of them for a day? I'm going to dose her for 1 more day. Her neck is still open. I can't have her waking up yet. She would be in too much pain."

"Of course. I'll stay here in this pretty dress and make sure she stays good. If anything changes, I'll summon you."

"Thank you."

Hugh is sitting up smiling when I get back. Dipak and Mason are in the room now too. Imagine that.

"Did all go as planned?"

"Perfect doctor. You are amazing. How is Charma?"

"Still recovering. I dosed her for 1 more day. I can not have her waking up today. Her neck is healing. Part of it is open. So tomorrow, she should start waking up. You should be at my castle after dinner. I do need you to make the plans for Jackal. I don't know if anyone has talked to you about that yet?"

"Yes they did. I understand. I want him with us. I can't leave him."

"I understand that. I need you to understand, he will be in the primary care of the servants. You will only be given visitation."

"I understand."

"Great. Now, as you improve with learning blood levels and controlling them. You will be allowed more and more time with him. It usually takes people 1 to 3 months before they fully grasp everything. So, you should plan for that."

"Ok."

"And once you are cleared. You will be able to stay in my vampire village or come back here. Or pretty much live anywhere you want. You are not now or will you ever be my hostage. I am only giving you refuge in my castle to learn how to be a vampire safely."

"Thank you for that."

"Great, I'll let you visit your visitors now." I usher the boys to him.

They both give me a dirty look as I leave.

Thora is still here. We don't even say anything, we just fly right to the boat.

"The island is perfect. Too bad the villagers are crazy stalkers."

"Yea it is. I'm going to go take an unsupervised nap."

"Me too. I feel like crap."

I curl up in bed and go right to sleep.

A couple of hours later, I wake up and stretch. That was such a good sleep. Dipak's feather is flashing red. I connect it.

"Sweetheart, where the hell are you? We've been trying to find you for an hour."

"Tye's bed."

"Tye's looking for you too."

"He must not have checked his bed."

"I'm coming over there. We need to talk. Stay on the boat please."

"Yea, that won't be a problem. I'll meet you in the dining room. I'm hungry."

I disconnect the feather and half stagger to the dining room. No idea why I'm starving. I get some chicken and peppers and start eating when Dipak comes in.

"Are you ok?"

"I'm fine. How are you?"

"Great. I said something around Dorseti about building vacation houses here, and she said you hate this island. I need to talk to you about it first. What is going on?"

"It's not the island. The island is amazing. It's beautiful here. It's the people. They constantly talk and whisper about me. I thought at first it was because I was new here, but I don't think so now." I shove a big bite in.

"Keep going."

I swallow. "When I first got here, Mason said there was a house on the outskirts we could stay in."

"Yea, we have that."

"He put me in the pack house though."

"Yea, I didn't care for that."

"I have met like maybe 6 of the villagers. But every single person here knows me. I try to go have a drink. They notify Mason. I go to the beach. Notify Mason. I go play as a wolf, Mason sends guards. I wake up on the beach. Notify Mason. I go to the medical area. Not even a hello. Just notify Mason. Then he shows up. He's not being friendly. He's scared I'll do something. He's watching me like a hawk. He makes the entire village watch me. Is it like that with all of you?"

"No."

"I'm staying on the boat from now on. I'll go back for my patients only. And I'm getting them out of here the first chance I get."

He kisses my head. "I love you. I didn't realize it was that bad. As soon as they get to our medical area, we'll get out of here."

"I love you, Dipak. I can't handle being watched like this."

"I understand sweetheart. We'll have dinner here tonight."

"Let them feed you. Save our food." We laugh. "Maybe we could get our water refilled here somewhere before we go too."

"That is a good idea. I'll ask him about it. And yes, I'll let them keep feeding us. I don't want to run out of food on the boat. We will have to make you fish."

I crack up laughing. "We're going to starve if it gets to that point, love."

"Oh I know." He kisses my head. "I'll stop over here after dinner and check on everything."

"I love you."

"I love you too, sweetheart."

Thora walks in as Dipak walks out. "I am starving to death."

"I was too. Did we not eat lunch? I thought we did."

"I think we were kind of queasy. We didn't eat much."

Elek stares at me. "You are hard to find sometimes. I've been searching everywhere since before lunch even."

Thora looks at him. "We only went over there to deal with the patients. We've been here."

"Why? What's going on?"

"Mason is a crazy stalker. He watches Nadine everywhere. And when he's not watching her, he has his guards and villagers watching her. They notify him anytime she walks in a place. No joke, we went straight to the medical area after lunch. He was there within 2 minutes."

"I think he thinks I'm going to murder his whole village or something. He is watching me constantly. I slept on the beach last night. Woke up with his guards watching me sleep, and they notified him the second I woke up."

"Wow."

"I'm over it. So, how's it going for you?"

"Fine. No one is paying any attention to me. I had no idea he was doing that to you."

"It's fine. We're leaving as soon as I can get my patients out. It'll be another day. I'll be on the boat. Don't say anything to anyone. I want to get my patients and get out. Dipak is trying to refill the water and stuff by tomorrow."

"He's making a big fuss about dinner. He's making sure to invite everyone."

Thora shakes her head. "We had entirely too much to drink last night. We can't stop puking." She shoves a huge piece of chicken in her mouth.

I nod and steal a pepper off her plate.

"You 2 act like you haven't eaten in days. Dinner is in half an hour."

I smile. "We'll eat through dinner, it's fine."

Tobias walks in. "Wow, people are here. I thought I was the only 1 on the boat."

Thora shakes her head. "We were sleeping."

"Dipak said you can go to dinner tonight at the pack house. But you're not allowed to run off with any girls."

Thora nods. "I'm starting to think that one's always going to be getting in trouble."

"Yea seems like it. But we need people like him. It keeps the eyes off of us."

She smiles. "So true." Then she looks at Tobias. "If anyone asks while you're over there, we're very sick and can't stop puking."

"Fair enough."

Thora finishes her plate and sits back. "What should we have for dinner?"

"I don't know. But we should eat on the deck."

The boys laugh.

Elek stands up and kisses my head. "Hungry girls today. We'll be back after dinner."

"See you soon."

"What ever happened to Jackal?"

"Coral was watching him last night. Then she took him back this morning, so he could see his dad. Now, he's staying over there."

"Nice, I thought we lost him or something."

We set up a table on the deck and start eating dinner. Tre lands beside us. "What is going on?"

I smile. I love him. He smiles at me. I wiggle all over.

Thora rubs her eyes. "That alpha is an asshole. He watches her everywhere. She can't do anything without him getting notified. We tried to get a drink last night. They notified him where we were. We slept on the beach. He made his guards watch her sleep. Then they told him right when she woke up. After lunch, we went to the medical area to check her patients. They notified him. He showed up 2 minutes later. He's making everyone in that village watch her. She can't even get out and play, he makes her take guards. It's horrible. All of them are watching her and notifying Mason of her every move. Then he shows up."

"Baby, I think he likes you."

I shake my head. "He thinks I'll kill everyone or make them vampires or something."

"I doubt that. Will you talk to him please? Elek is about to make him cry."

I cross my arms. "He wasn't supposed to say anything."

"Dipak started it. Elek flew off the handle about him having the guards watch you sleep. It's really Dipak."

Thora rolls her eyes. "I hope Elek does make him cry. We can't even go to the beach because he has guards there now. What is the point, Tre? This is the only place she can get a little privacy. And they watch it."

Tre looks at the guards. "Let's think about this. It's his island. He has a lot of guards. He wants to talk to Nadine. Why not use a few of them to see when she comes over to the island? I don't think he's trying to stalk her."

"Well, I feel very stalked, Tre. All anyone does here is whisper about me. Constantly. I can't go anywhere without someone pointing me out. Saying something under their breath about me. Every single person knows who I am, and I know no one."

"Baby, you are a Luna. That means something to these people. The normal people on the streets are watching you because of that. They point me out because I'm a dragon. Every time I turn to a dragon, I damn near get a standing ovation."

Thora cracks up laughing. "That is true."

"Not only are you a Luna, but you're a dragon and a vampire. They all know there's something different about you. No one can stop people talking or wanting to catch a glimpse of the wolf with white fur or a dragon flying through the air. These people are excited about seeing this. Mason is not doing that. And yes, they know who you are because they are excited and talking. Think about living here. Nothing happens. Maybe a pirate attack sporadically, but nothing like this. None of them have any idea what to do or how to act."

"Well, why does he keep guards on her and have everyone notify him constantly where she is? It's crazy."

"I think there's a lot I don't understand. But I know he worries about you. He sees you as a young wolf wanting to play. He doesn't want you to get hurt or lost."

"It's an island Tre. With no one else on it."

"And no big animals."

Tre smirks. "I know. He's way over protective. You're showing him that now. You're not as young as he thinks you are. Give him another chance please. He's like the people here. He doesn't know what to do or how to act either."

"Ok."

Thora nods. "Fine. But we're coming late for dinner."

"We'll get there when we get there."

"Thank you both." He turns to a dragon and flies back.

"What should we wear?"

"He sees you as a little girl? Let's go baby-making-outfits."

I crack up laughing. "Do we have an orb here to do my hair in black and red?"

"The brains can do it. They can at the castle anyway. BRAIN."

One of them walks over.

"How many of you are on the boat?"

"5. It was going to be 1, but they thought we might fall overboard. So, it's 1 and 4 spares."

We laugh so hard.

Thora looks at it. "You can do our hair right?"

She nods and holds out her hand. Her palm turns black like the orb. "Wow. I want the black and red like always." She nods and I touch it. My hair goes straight black and red. I shake it a bit and smile.

"The deep purple for me." Thora does hers, then we go get dressed.

We both come out with tall black boots that go to our thighs with high heels on them. Then the super short black skirts. Black gloves to our upper arms. Then our shirts are a little different but still black and barely covering our boobs. We smile and grab 2 swords each. Then we take off for the island.

I mind link her.

-What are we doing?-

-I want to get an overview of the land. I want to see how big it really is.-

-Ok.-

We go up so high and finally see the whole thing. -It's massive.-

-One side is a mountain too. It's a lot bigger than I thought.-

She smacks my wing. -Is that a pirate ship?-

-I don't know.-

We get a little closer and, sure enough, a pirate ship is approaching. There are some little boats approaching the island. -We should probably go let them know.-

-Yea. They got a minute. They're not on land yet.- I disconnect the mind link we go for the pack house.
