4. Red Eyes

The door flies in. "PICK A DIFFERENT SEAT WOMAN." I sit by Johen. Tye is throwing swimsuits at people. "MARY SAID WE CAN'T BE NAKED."

"TYE STOP." He looks at me with red eyes. "You're using dragon strength. You nearly took Elroy's head off with my skirt. Why are you so mad?"

"NO REASON. I'LL COME BACK LATER. JOHEN COME WITH ME. WE NEED TO TALK A MINUTE."

"Can Elek go to make sure you don't touch Johen?"

"NO."

"Do not touch Johen."

"I WON'T BABYDOLL. OMAR YOU TOO."

Omar jumps up and runs out.

"Well, he seems a little mad."

"Wonder what the doctor said."

"I have no idea. But we have got some terrible cases of child abuse. The boys all get worked up for those."

"What was the worst case you heard of?"

"I'm not allowed to talk about it. And believe me, you do not want to know. It involved a little girl."

"Yea, I do. What happened?"

"I'm sworn to secrecy. It can't be talked about by anyone who wasn't in the room. Even the one's who were in the room. We don't talk about it. I was there as a doctor. I was removed, but I still knew what was going on. Cruor took over."

"It must have been bad if you were removed."

"I was doing everything I could to save her life. It..." I shrug my shoulders.

"How old was she?"

"120. Somewhere in there."

Elek looks at me shocked. "Wow so young."

"Was she raped?"

"Multiple men."

Both their eyes go red.

"I'm making the red eye problem worse. Relax. Cruor was able to save her life. She is safe now. Dipak and Marcus dealt with the men responsible. No one tried to save their lives."

They both try to calm themselves.

I nod. "Now you see why sometimes the doctors have that effect on the boys. Some of the things they bring to us are horrible."

"I haven't seen red in so damn long. I was starting to think I wouldn't ever again."

"Now imagine Tye and Dipak trying to calm down."

"TYE GO OUT THE WINDOW. DON'T EVEN TRY TO USE THE BUTTONS IN THE ELEVATOR." Omar yells at him from by the door.

Johen slams himself in the chair beside me.

Then Omar comes in and sits down. "Where were we?"

"News from the doctor?"

"Oh yes. Turns out that boy Marcus has over there from the Blayze village, started talking about the last village he lived in. It was the 1 they traced Nikolas to this time. But the boy said his parents were set to go over to our village in the last group. The last group was there to make it more believable for us. They are loyal supporters of the Blayze king. They are there to kill any of our villagers that did not submit to him immediately when he took control of our village. The table is not happy. They are arguing about killing them or throwing them out. We know exactly who they are, every last 1. So, it will get sorted out."

"Throw them out. They had kids in those groups."

"Kids were actually minimal. But they don't want to throw them out right this second. They have the borders of Blayze village closed. People would have nowhere to go. Also, the second they get there. The Blayze's would know that we know about that plan too. We don't want to give away that much. So the guard and brain presence is huge now in our village."

Elek rubs his eyes. "I can't believe they would actually use families for an act of war. They are f****d up."

"And they have 65,000 troops guarding their village and castle. That's more than us."

"That's why they are trying to get you to attack them with troops. They would win defending."

Omar nods. "But they didn't count on the brains. They still have no idea, that we can tell, that they are there. And the brains want 5000 of them to take down the 65,000 guards with minimal losses."

"They should have that now."

"They do. But Dipak wants 7,500 plus additional to be safe. It's going to be a couple of days before we fully attack and take them out."

I smile at Elek. "I am so glad you talked them into waiting instead of attacking that first day."

"Yea, that would have been bad."

Johen looks at him. "Terrible. They are hiding 45,000 of those troops. The brains found them. Bring us lunch. Tye is coming back as well."

"Yes sir."

"What's Tye doing?"

"Calming down. He wants to show you the waterpark himself."

I go to the bedroom and connect Tye's feather.

"Hi babydoll."

"We ordered lunch. Why don't you come and eat with us?"

"I need to calm down, so I don't tear the building down."

"Why are you so mad? Omar told us about the kid in the mountain. I know it's bad. But you can let it go. We'll get rid of them soon enough."

"I know babydoll. It hurts that he did this to you. Your own mate. I'm suppose to protect you from this stuff. I failed."

"No, you didn't, Tye. He was supposed to be my mate and king. He was suppose to love me. He didn't. Like my brother. What my brother did wasn't anyone else's fault. And what he did, and the decisions he made, are no one else's fault either. None of us could have ever known."

"I love you babydoll."

"I love you Tye. Come eat lunch with us. We'll get through this. I promise."

"Alright."

I let him in the balcony door. We have lunch and talk about how nice the inn is.

Tre, Marcus, and Dipak's feathers start flashing at the same time.

"Hi boys."

"Angel, Thora is bringing you something. We want to hear your reaction. Anything is fine. We want to hear what you think about it. The table is here. No one else."

"Ok."

Thora comes in and hands me an unsealed letter. "It's from Nikolas. I found it in his office. The boys read it. They said it's your choice about what to do with it."

I hold and stare at it, but I don't open it. "Everything that could have been. Everything we showed him. How different his life could be. I showed him real love. But that wasn't enough. He made his decisions. And now, I make mine."

I let 1 tear fall out of my eye, then I hold the letter over a candle and watch it burn. I wipe my eyes off and sit up straight.

"You weren't even curious about what he said?" Thora puts an eyebrow up.

"I'm done being manipulated by him. His actions show me who he is. He attacked my table. He attacked my mates. He stole from me. And now he will die for high treason. His words are nothing but lies, and I will not partake in hearing or reading them any longer."

No one moves a muscle.

Then Thora jumps up and down. She jumps on me and hugs me so tight. "I KNEW YOU WERE A BADASS b***h IN EVERY LIFE."

I laugh, then everyone starts. I even hear Dracul laughing.

Tye stands up. "Let's go swimming my queen."

Thora grabs my arm. "I'M STAYING TO GO SWIMMING DIPAK."

Coral screams, "I WANT TO GO TOO."

"Bring me something to swim in, Coral."

"Ok."

A few minutes later, we go to the waterpark. I grab a tube and Tye catches me mid-flight into the water. "No, we start over here."

He carries me and everyone follows us. Then he puts me on my back in the river. "Now stay on your back."

"Ok."

Everyone else jumps in, and gets on tubes too.

We float along, and then we go into a huge aquarium. There are sharks and ocean creatures everywhere. "Tye this is perfect."

Thora smiles. "This is amazing, Tye."

Omar looks at him. "How did you ever even think this up?"

"LOOK AT THAT SHARK WITH ALL THOSE TEETH."

Elroy looks at us. "That's a lot of teeth."

Elek nods. "I got dripped on. It's not leaking, is it?"

Tye points. "Look a fish."

The leaking slowly gets worse. Then we get to the end and it's coming apart. Then that big shark shows up.

"AAAHHHHH!" Coral falls off her raft.

Elek jumps off to grab her, but the water pushes us out into the rapids too fast. By the end of the rapids, we're knocked off the rafts and trying to collect ourselves.

I blink a couple of times.

Omar looks around. "I think I might need new shorts."

I crack up laughing. "AGAIN."

Elroy turns to Tye. "It was suppose to scare us like that?"

Tye nods and grabs a raft. I jump out and grab it. Then I run to the start and jump in again.

Everyone is right behind me. We do it like 4 more times. Every time, it gets more and more fun.

At the end, we try to stay on the rafts. "Tye this is the best thing ever."

"I'm glad you like it, babydoll."

Thora looks at me. "LET'S TRY THE SLIDES AFTER THIS ROUND."

"OK."

27,000 trips down the slides and through the aquarium later, I wake up as Dipak picks me up off a tube and hands me to Marcus. I snuggle into him.

"We have to go back, angel. Omar summoned us to help get you out of the water."

He puts me on my feet. I sit on the couch by Elek and Elroy. Elroy is laid over 1 end sound asleep. Elek is sitting at the other end laughing.

Dipak is handing Thora to Frode.

Frode sits in a chair holding her. "They wore themselves out."

Elek nods. "It was hilarious to watch."

"I bet it was."

"MARCUS. I'M FISHING ANOTHER ONE OUT FOR YOU."

Marcus takes Tye. Tye doesn't even wake up. Marcus puts him on another couch. "I am not changing him."

Frode and Elek are about to die laughing.

"OH SAMSON SHE'S OVER HERE AT THE BOTTOM." Omar yells from the main pool. "DIPAK YOU'LL HAVE TO FISH THIS ONE OUT."

"GIVE ME A MINUTE. STILL GOT JOHEN OVER HERE."

Samson gets over to the main pool and stands there laughing his ass off. Coral's at the bottom of it.

Marcus takes Johen from Dipak and carries him inside. "I'll be back to get another one."

Dipak dives into the main pool.

I feel my head hit Elek's shoulder. "And we lost that one again."
