Chapter 1

DANA frowned when she got out of the taxi she was riding and saw a car parked in front of their house. Then the driver seat door opened, and a man got out. He looked to be older than forty, and he had a briefcase with him. When Dana saw the man walking towards their house, she approached him.

"Good morning." She said as she approached him. The man stopped walking and turned to her.

"Good morning," he greeted her back. "Do you live here?" he asked, pointing to their house.

Dana nodded in response. "Yes. I live here," she still answered politely. "What do you need?"

"I am Attorney Enriquez," he introduces himself. “The De Asis Empire sent me here.”

When Dana heard about the De Asis Empire, her chest became nervous upon hearing about De Asis Empire.

De Asis Empire is the company where her older sister works. Dana also heard that its owner is a majority stockholder of large companies such as banking, oil, mining, and airlines.

Weeks ago, Dana received a letter. It was no ordinary letter—a subpoena for her sister Doreen. Written in the letter, she found out what her sister did at the company she was working for.

Her sister and her boyfriend, who works as an accountant for the company, were also involved in the theft. She is not expecting her sister to be able to steal.

According to the gossip from their neighbors, her sister had a relationship with an old billionaire who was her boss to escape poverty. Their family is not well-off. Their mother is a simple housewife, and their father works as a security guard. Being a scholar also helped her to graduate in nursing.

There is only a two-year difference in age between her and her sister. Doreen is twenty-eight years old, and she is twenty-six years old. Doreen dream is high because after she graduated from college, she went to the city and looked for a job there. Until she found out that she was working at De Asis Empire as a secretary.

At first, she did not believe that she had a relationship with the old man. As time went by, she noticed a change in her appearance when she returned home. When Doreen came home, she was driving a fancy car. Once she asked her whose car it was, she just got angry with her and told her not to ask and not to interfere in her life.

Her clothes and bags will also be a luxury, as well as the jewelry she wears. Especially when their father had a heart attack, they required a substantial amount of money to perform surgery on him. And Doreen paid for her father's surgery and their hospital bill as well.

Since then, she has been suspicious of Doreen's secretary's work. She has been working there for less than a year, but how does she make such a substantial amount of money? How can she buy expensive cars and expensive things?

Dana's suspicion was confirmed when Doreen left her cell phone in her room. She saw from the screen on her cell phone that 'Daddy' was calling her. She suspects that it is Franco, her sugar Daddy.

She felt angry for her sister. It was okay with her that Doreen had a relationship with the rich old man. It was her life, but the only thing she didn't like was that she robbed the person who helped her out of poverty, and worst of all, she went with another man. Didn't they consider their parents' reaction?

Dana also did not inform her parents about what happened. She doesn't want to make things worse for her parents, especially since her father just got out of the hospital.

"Can I talk to your parents?"

She bit her lower lip. "I'm sorry, but my parents don't know what my sister did," she said.

She noticed the confusion on his face, so she continued to speak. "I was the one who got the summons for Doreen. And I didn't tell my parents about it. My dad has just been discharge from the hospital. He may go back to the hospital if he discovers what my sister did." She explained the father's condition.

"I understand, Miss, but Sir Franco is also impatient. He is furious with your sister. If your sister fails to show up and return the stolen million, you must pay for it."

"But we don't have enough money," she said. Although they don't have a million, where will they obtain the 50 million? Her parents are not employed. Their daily living is sufficient with her salary as a nurse at a private hospital.

"I'm sorry. I am doing my job. Mr. De Asis has given you a one-week extension to talk to your sister. But if your sister hasn't shown up yet, prepare the 50 million." The man said goodbye to her after that.

Dana bit her lower lip immediately after the man's car left. Her shoulders slumped as she entered their house. Upon entering their house, her mother greeted her and made her feel surprised. "Who's that guy you're talking to, Dana?" Her mom immediately asked her.

"He's just asking for directions, Mom," she just lied.

"Is that so," said her Mom. "By the way, have you talked to your sister?" her mother asked. "I've called her, but I can't reach her number. What happened to her?"

Her mom doesn't know what her sister's doing. "Mom, I haven't spoken to her yet. I'll try to call Doreen later."

“Oh, okay. When you talk to your sister, tell her to call me "

"Okay." After that, she said goodbye and went to her room.

She walked towards her room. She immediately took out her cell phone and attempted to call Doreen after entering the room. Just like the first time she called her after discovering what she had done, her number was left unattended once more. "Ugh, what kind of trouble did you get yourself into, Doreen," she couldn't help but blurt out.

AFTER Franco had a meeting with the board of directors of De Asis Empire, he stood up and walked out of the conference room. His secretary followed him. While he was walking, Franco's secretary spoke.

"Sir, you have an appointment." She had not finished what she had to say.

"Cancel it," he interrupted what she was going to say.

Franco glared at his secretary blankly and coldly. He noticed the fear on her face. "I'm... sorry, Sir." She immediately apologized to him, her voice was shaky as well. "I canceled your appointment." She looked the other way and went on walking. One of Franco's dislikes is disobeying his orders.

He turned to his secretary once more when he was in front of his office door. “Call Attorney Enriquez. Tell him that I want to talk to him now," he ordered.

"Okay, sir," she said.

He opened the office door and entered. He sat at his executive table, and while waiting for Attorney Enriquez to arrive, he read a paper that was on his table.

A few minutes later, someone knocked on his office door. "Sir, Attorney Enriquez is here," she informed him.

"Set him in," he ordered. He dropped the papers he was holding when he saw Attorney Enriquez walk towards him.

"Good morning, Sir." He greets. He nodded in response. He pointed to the visitor's chair in front of him.

He leaned back in his swivel chair before speaking. "Any updates about Doreen and Mark?" he asked.

"According to the agent, they were trying their best to locate them. They said they would call when there is news of where the two are hiding."

Franco couldn't help but frown at what he heard. "What about Doreen's family? Did you do what I ordered?" He ordered him to go to Doreen's family and warn them about their daughter's actions.

"I only talked to Doreen's sister," he answered, causing him to frown even more. He continued to speak. "Doreen's sister stopped me from talking to their parents. She mentioned that the father had just been discharge from the hospital. She said her Dad might return to the hospital when he finds out about what Doreen did," he explained. " I have also told Doreen's sister what you are ordering. That if Doreen doesn't show up, her parents will pay for what she stole."

He nodded. "Okay, give me an update from time to time," he said here.

"Okay, sir." He said, after that he said goodbye.

Doreen was her secretary. Doreen is beautiful, with a beautiful body and an innocent face. And she's competent at her job. Her work is neat and polished. She is different from those who had been his secretaries. She's prim and proper. She was nice and kind, too. And he was impressed by her dedication to work and her love for her family. Once, he heard her talking on the cell phone. Her conversation makes it seem like she's talking to her family due to the tenderness and longing in her voice. And there he admired Doreen. Because that's one of the qualities he likes in a woman.

It's been a long time since Franco was attracted to a woman. At the age of thirty-two, Franco never indulged himself in a serious relationship. He had a girlfriend, but not a serious one. Most of the women he's had had only wanted money from him, so he hasn't seen a woman he can take seriously. He's a good catch, after all. He is good-looking and rich. What he wants in a woman is someone who is not dazzled by his wealth, and who will accept him as he is. Not because he is Franco de Asis.

So, Franco tries to date Doreen. He takes her on a date to an expensive restaurant and tries to give her an expensive gift, but she returns what he gave her.

She said she didn't need that and she wasn't a materialistic woman. Franco thought that she was very different from the women who had passed through his life. She was not dazzled by his money.

Franco continued to pursue her because he wanted to have a serious relationship with her. Maybe this is the girl he will love. Franco quickly gained his trust, but he didn't know that she was already rubbing him and that his company's accountant, Mark, was an accomplice. Her behavior is the opposite of her gentle face.

Franco learned that the two were in a relationship and Doreen had planned to work with him. They fled after stealing millions from his company. They both broke his trust. One of the things Franco dislikes the most is losing his trust.
