ElevenHungry and cold, I came across a cave in a hillside and wandered inside. Big enough to allow me to stand upright, it offered the only shelter I could find. Despite the darkness, it felt safe and so much warmer than outside so, forcing myself to clear my mind of what had happened, I slumped down and tried to make myself as comfortable as I could. Despite my best efforts, as I sat in the silence, the distant sound of dripping water my only companion, I went back over the dreadful events of that awful day. I never suspected in a thousand years that something like this could have happened, that everyone could use me so readily, without conscience. I was supposed to be smart, top of the class. What a load of bull that was! As I sat with my knees drawn up to my chest, I kept going through
