Chapter 2 we divorce

Regina, choking on her heartache, tugs Baron's pant leg and pleads, “Baron, I'm begging you to help me get through to the prison. Grandma just left, and I'm going to stay and take care of her funeral.”
Baron frowns. “Prison is not a place you can buy your way out of. I know you're sad, but think before you speak.”

Regina looked at his perfect, angular profile and gave him a faint smile. “Baron, let's get a divorce,” she said firmly
Baron looks at her and asks, “You're divorcing me because I didn't pick you up?”
“It's not that.” Regina's lips twitched. “I really want to divorce you. When you're free, we'll get it done.”
“Regina, I don't have the time or the mood to watch you fight right now.” The man's expression darkened as he pushed her hand away. “Go take a shower and sober up.”
Baron opens the door and leaves. Regina stands where she is, staring into a void.
Isn't she conscious enough?

She had never been more awake.
