8. A Job

Two years ago. After the duel ended and Edward was declared the next Alpha. He did announce to all pack members that Selena, the daughter of Alpha Dark Moon Pack, was his mate. He had known Selena for a long time, and they were indeed close. But it cannot be denied that Selena is not a fated mate.
After the duel, Edward tried to find Virgie. He didn't know her mate's name, but Edward could certainly recognize her scent. But Edward couldn't even find where Virgie was.
Rebecca knew that Edward was looking for Virgie. She deliberately told Edward that there was no such woman. And until now, Edward was still curious about the woman. Who exactly is the masked woman?
"Don't ask too many questions, Francis. Just do your job," Edward replied.
On the way to his office, Edward had seen a billboard displayed on one of the buildings in this town, Glick town. This town was a few days away from the capital, where Virgie was currently living.
"Who is she?" Edward asked Francis as he pointed at the billboard. He saw a picture of a beautiful woman holding a skincare. The woman on the billboard was Virgie.
Francis turned his head. He saw the beautiful Virgie and smiled. "Oh, she's Virginia. A newcomer artist who is very popular right now," Francis replied. "Many famous brands are using her as their brand ambassador."
Edward looked seriously at Virgie's picture. When he saw her eyes, Edward felt so familiar.
"Do we need to use her as our product?" Edward asked.
Francis suddenly coughed. And Edward gave him a sardonic glance. "Selena will be furious, Sir," Francis replied. "Our product is underwear. She'll have to do a photo shoot wearing only underwear in front of you."
"No problem," Edward said. "Selena doesn't need to know about my work. We're not too close."
Francis glanced at Edward. He knew that Edward did not really have a deep love for Selena. He knew that having Selena was a deliberate plan by Edward to establish himself in front of Alphonse and Farah that he was able to match with an Alpha child.
"Contact her agency. I want to set up a meeting to use her as a brand ambassador," Edward ordered.
"Okay, Sir," Francis replied.

Virgie had just finished filming and was getting ready to go home. She accidentally crossed paths with Martin, who picked her up on set.
"Honey," Martin greeted when he saw Virgie coming out of the elevator.
"Oh, hi?" Virgie looked around. She had to make sure no paparazzi saw her with Martin. "Why are you here?"
Martin smiled as he took Virgie's hand. He then led Virgie out of the building.
"Martin, shouldn't we be careful?" Virgie asked.
As they walked out of the building, Virgie realized that tonight was a full moon night. Every time the moon was full, she felt uncomfortable. At this time of the year, she and her mate should be making great love. But Virgie didn't have a mate. She only had Martin. And Virgie just couldn't do it with Martin. She was afraid that she wouldn't be unable to control her shapeshifting and let Martin know her true identity.
"The movie is canceled," Martin said as he opened the car door for Virgie. They were now in the parking lot.
"Oh, really?" Virgie wasn't too surprised. "You must be very disappointed."
"Why do you look happy?" Martin asked.
"Because I didn't want to be interested in that movie. Too many action scenes and...."
Martin wrapped his arms around Virgie and kissed her on the lips. "Let me do the action scenes for you," Martin said.
Virgie smiled. "Today is my period. We can't," Virgie said with a smile.
"Oh, s**t!" Martin looked so disappointed. "When is it over?"
"One week," Virgie replied casually. She then got into Martin's car.
Martin also got into the car. They didn't leave immediately but made out in the car.
"I have a new project for you," Martin said between them, making out.
"What?" Virgie asked.
"A wealthy businessman in Glick town wants you to be the brand ambassador for his product," Martin replied.
Hearing the name Glick, Virgie immediately stopped her intimate activities with Martin.
"What? Glick?" Vergie really didn't expect it.
"I know. That's your hometown. You said you wanted a vacation, right? You can go back to Glick while working. It was just a few hours of shooting. He offered a reasonable price," Martin replied.
"What's the businessman's name?" asked Virgie.
"Edward Reynolds," Martin replied.
Virgie was speechless. She never thought that this would happen. Two years passed, and Virgie tried to forget that Edward was her mate. And now Edward wanted her to be his brand ambassador.
"Underwear?" Virgie said, a little surprised. She was hiding her surprise.
"What's wrong? You've worn bikinis in your movies," Martin replied.
Virgie acted like she was upset. "Aren't you my lover? Why do you let me wear revealing clothes? Why aren't you possessive," Virgie grumbled.
"If you don't want it, I'll refuse it," Martin replied.
Virgie suddenly didn't want this opportunity to pass her by. "What! Don't rush it!"
"I don't want to either, Baby. But I don't want to hinder your career. Do you know I cried for three days after your hot scene with William?" Martin said.
William is one of the actors who has been cast with Virgie in a romantic movie.
"It wasn't a hot scene. We just kissed," Virgie replied.
"No! You and Wiliam were twirling, and William's hand accidentally went up your skirt..."
Virgie couldn't stand Martin's rambling. "Alright, alright. Don't talk about it. Or you'll be furious again. I don't like it when you get jealous."
"So .... " Martin took Virgie's hand. "You accept this job?"
Virgie didn't answer immediately. She pretended to think.
"One million dollars...."
"Okay!" Virgie cut Martin off at the mention of numbers.
"My girl is a money lover!" teased Martin.
"And I love you."
They went back to partying again. After they were done with the conversation and the lovemaking. They soon left the building.
Virgie agreed to return to Glick City. But there seemed to be something she was planning.
"Edward, I am coming," Virgie thought.
