Chapter Twelve RIVER Natalie and I are having mimosas at the hotel restaurant Friday morning when Alex approaches our table. He presses a kiss to my cheek before taking the chair next to me. “Good mornin’, ladies,” he says, taking off his ball cap and setting it down. I have a feeling he does that a lot back home with his cowboy hats. He’s always a proper gentleman, making sure my needs are met before his, and being super polite—yet not too polite in the bedroom. Too bad there’s none of that Southern charm in Wisconsin. “Morning!” Natalie beams, the smile on her face gives away what she’s thinking.
