[Eli’s POV]
Bright sunlight threatening to blind me roused me from a dreamless sleep. Letting a groan escape me, I turned over in an attempt to stop the attack and found myself staring into Moyra's peaceful sleeping face.
Immediately, my heart began to hammer in my chest as I lifted a shaky hand to brush away a strand of loose hair that was covering the eye she usually kept hidden. So far, she hadn't let me see what was underneath her mask, and I found myself wondering how she would react if I did without her knowing.
Sucking in a breath, I dared to try, but stopped as a small sigh escaped her lips and her eye that was visible opened.
"Eli?" She murmured sleepily. "What's wrong?"
"Nothing." I responded, brushing my fingers along her cheek. "You should go back to sleep."
