"This one?" Chen Lei touched his cheek as he glanced at Geneva and the latter met his eyes threateningly. He smirked. "It's an allergy."
"An allergy?" Allen furrowed his brow. "Are you kidding me?"
"Do I look like I'm kidding?" Chen Lei cast Allen a cold glance. "I tasted something just a while ago and this one I got. I better not be greedy next time."
Geneva said as she glared at him, cursing him inwardly: "This devil. He is really provoking me. Did he just say he is allergic to my lips or something? How absurd! Wait? What am I upset about?"
"Since that's the case, why don't you ask a doctor to check on that? Your face will ruin if that gets worse."
"No need." Chen Lei replied flatly, nothing else. "Miss Sanchez, what kind of look is that? We haven't started yet, but you're already sulking. If you continue to behave like that, I can help to think you're interested in me."
"Nonsense!" Allen and Geneva exclaimed simultaneously. With that said, Geneva and Chen Lei stared at Allen.
Allen pouted and spoke. "President Chen, do you think you're getting out of business?"
Chen Lei tilted his head, eyes turned dark as he spoke coldly. "Uncle."
"What?" Allen feigned innocence.
"Call me Uncle."
"Wait?" Geneva interrupted. "Allen, who is he to you? Why is he forcing you to call him Uncle? I thought you just know each other because of business or because of your parents. Don't tell me you're really related to each other by blood?"
Allen sighed as he sat, pulling along Geneva to sit next to him. The woman followed along as she waited for his response.
Allen sighed heavily, reluctant to speak. "He is my uncle. I am his nephew by blood. My mother is his biological sister."
"Then why are you in his house? Why not go home?"
"Going home? That's impossible!" Allen exclaimed as if he had seen a ghost. "I prefer to stay alone in another house than living in my parent's house."
"There's nothing wrong with that, right?"
"Nonsense. My mother will keep nagging me to get married. So scary." Allen slightly glanced at Geneva. "You say woman, I am still young, why is she hurrying me to get married?"
Chen Lei brought his fist over his lips and faked a cough. "I'm still here. I thought you wanted to talk to me. Now I'm here, you're behaving like I am not around? I'm not as free as you both. And you Allen, doesn't she have a name? Why are you calling her woman?"
"Because I feel like it." Allen hissed. "What? Even that, you're forbidding me? What else do you want? President Chen—"
"Uncle, don't be rude!" Chen Lei spoke using a threatening tone.
Allen pouted. "Fine, uncle." Suddenly his eyes rounded in surprise as he realized something. He eyed Chen Lei mysteriously. "This is strange. Geneva, what did you do to my uncle? Since when did he become fond of talking? He never spoke so long to anyone like before. This is the first time and it's in front of you. And you?"
"What about me?" Geneva crossed her legs, quickly cutting off the man's words and ignoring his inquisitive stare at her. In order to hide the truth, she forced herself to calm down and returned to her distant and aloof self. "Let's get back to the matter. I still have to work tomorrow. We better discuss important matters instead of meaningless subjects. An ordinary woman like me also needs to rest."
"Alright." Chen Lei spoke coldly, returning to being bossy, businessman, and almighty above everyone. "If I guessed it right, you already agreed to be my son's bodyguard."
"Yes."
"I quit!"
Allen and Geneva replied at the same time.
Allen glanced at her, confused. "What did you say?"
Without looking at Allen, Geneva looked at the cold and domineering man fearlessly. "I said I'm quitting. I don't want to work as your son's bodyguard anymore."
"Geneva, are you serious?" Allen asked.
"I am very serious. I said I'm quitting and I mean it." Geneva answered firmly.
Chen Lei leaned forward, staring at her intently. "Reason."
"What?"
"Give me a reason."
"There's no reason. I just don't want to work with you."
"I got it." Chen Lei chuckled. "Woman, are you afraid of me?"
"Does it matter whether I'm afraid of you or not?" Geneva laughed mockingly. "It's about principle. President Chen of CL International and Starmoon Entertainment, will you dare say you didn't do this on purpose?"
"Uncle, what did Geneva mean?" Allen butt in. His sight was shifting back and forth to the two, totally confused not because why they were arguing but because of the feeling that something was off. Most importantly, he sensed that the two seemed to know each other for so long. "Are the two of you hiding something from me?"
Chen Lei and Geneva ignored his question.
Chen gazed at the woman provocatively. "Miss Sanchez, you're thinking too much. What made you think I did this on purpose? I know nothing about you, remember?"
"You—" Geneva stood up and looked away frustratingly. "I don't care. I just want to say it clearly. I'm quitting!"
"Have you made up your mind?"
"I mean it, damn!"
"Then you have to pay me 10 billion."
"What? Why should I pay you such an amount?"
"What? You didn't read the contract before signing it?"
"I—"
"Seems I'm right." Chen Lei smiled. "Miss Sanchez, how are you going to last with your work if you're that careless? This is how business works. If you terminate the contract, you have to pay."
"You asshole!"
"What do you mean by that?" Allen interrupted. He stood and interrogated the domineering man. "I didn't write such a condition in the contract because I don't want to force Geneva to continue working with you if she doesn't want to. How did such compensation appear in the contract?" Allen came over. He wanted to slam his hands on the table but because of the man's threatening stare, he kept them on his sides subconsciously. "You tampered the contract? Or should I say you changed them?"
Chen Lei looked up on him. "Yes. I did change them."
"You— you're getting too far." Allen's face reddened. "How can you do that? You're trapping her!"
Chen Lei didn't speak.
"You speak! You have to explain this!"
"I don't need to explain myself to you." Chen Lei leaned his back against the backrest of his seat, interlacing his fingers together.
"You— you're using your authority again!"
Chen Lei ignored his rage. Looking so cold and unbothered, he asked, "Let me ask you. Do you like her?"
"I—" Allen looked away, voice lowering down. "What are you talking about? I am not."
A sarcastic laugh came out from Geneva's mouth. "This is too much! This is really too much!"
"Oh?" Chen Lei nodded. He then elegantly glimpsed at the woman. "So, have you made up your mind?"
"I—" Geneva was lost for words.
"If you can't afford to pay for it, actually, there's a quick way."
"No need! I'll pay for her! Allen interjected.
Chen Lei ignored him. "What do you think?"
Geneva closed her eyes. "What is it?"
Chen Lei stared at her intently. Then he slowly rose up and sauntered towards her.
"What are you trying to do?" Allen blocked his way. "Don't ever think of bullying her."
Chen Lei's eyes narrowed. "Move aside."
"No!"
"Allen it's fine." Geneva patted his back. "Let him speak."
"But Geneva—"
"Do you trust me?"
"I—" Allen took a deep breath and hesitatingly stepped aside.
Geneva glared at the man. "Speak? What are you suggesting now?"
Chen Lei gestured his fingers, indicating her to lean forward. "Come over and I will tell you."
Gritting her teeth, Geneva followed. However, at the moment her ear got closer to the man's lips, a mischievous smile appeared on his lips. "Sleep for a night with me."
