In the office. "Where is Alyssa?" Xander immediately inquired to the little assistant right as he arrived in his office. Little Xindy was sitting on the couch, facing her laptop. On the table were plenty of documents scattered around. A frown creased his forehead seeing such a view inside his office. "What happened to my room? Did a storm just pass by?" Xindy raised her head and answered, "Brother Xander, I just forgot to clean up the table after finding the documents I needed. I'm sorry for seeing this. I'll clean them right away." Xander put down his stuff on his table and faced the assistant. "I asked you, where is Alyssa? If I am not wrong, she doesn't have work this morning. I phoned her at her apartment but no one answered me. You are her assistant, you should know where she is right now?" Xindy lowered her head and fiddled on her thumbs, refusing to answer. Xander walked around his table and sighed audibly, fingers caressing on the edge of his table. "I think I tolerated you much recently. So no one is respecting me now." "No! It's not that, Brother Xander." Xindy refuted. "Then tell me? What's wrong with you and Alyssa? Am I still the manager here? Why are you acting secretive and disrespectful to me? Even you, why are you not reporting everything about Alyssa? Did I put you in that job to hide things from me?" "No." Xindy shook her head, eyes started to well up. "Brother Xander, Sister Alyssa don't look fine since this morning. She is always spacing out and looks so troubled. I asked her but she did not tell me why. She just said she is fine. She—" "I am not asking you about that." Xander interrupted. "I'm asking you where is she? Can't you understand human language?" "She is at Unique Bar." Xander brows furrowed, eyes narrowing. "Unique Bar? What is she doing in that place?" "She said she wants to meet Mr. Tom." "Mr. Tom? The director of Charles perfume?" "Yes." "What?" Xander's eyes rounded in disbelief. Anger crept out on his cold, stern, and aloof face. "Is she crazy? You know clearly what kind of man that Mr. Tom is? He had been known as someone who harass girls. I already told her not go there alone without me. Why did she not listen to me? For that job, she is staking her life? It's much better if she rejects that job. And you Xindy, why didn't you stop her?" Xindy finally couldn't hold her tears and she sobbed. "I'm sorry Brother Xander, I can't stop here." Xander punched the table, and the assistant flinched in worry and fear. "Then didn't you call me right away. If I did not force you to speak, you wouldn't even want to speak. Are you really a woman? Why can't you understand the danger she is facing right now?" "Brother Xander, I'm wrong. I'm sorry." Xander shook his head. "I can't believe this. You two are disappointing me." Xander grabbed his bag and stormed out. … In the Unique Bar. Xander hurriedly made his way inside the bar and searched for Alyssa in the lobby. When he couldn't find her shadow in the lobby, he rushed to the second floor to search every private room. Xander has always been composed and calm in public. But right now, he was eaten with anxiety. He trusted Alyssa but he couldn't trust the other person she met. No matter how she refused if that man was determined to harass her, she has nothing to defend herself. She was just a woman after all. A very ordinary woman who was just excellent in her career and nothing else. He was about to begin searching when he unexpectedly ran into a certain person in the hallway whom he never expected to meet. He thought of avoiding him, but before he could make a turn, that person saw him and spoke up. "Want to avoid me? Am I that scary?" "Why did this man pop up everywhere? Is he monitoring me or he is meeting a p********e here? Disgusting, I never thought he is such a man. Good thing I found out earlier." Xander mumbled inwardly. Xander stood upright and met the intimidating gaze of the man. He was neither respectful nor kind to him. He faced the man with his usual self— cold like that person in front of him. "Mr. President, good morning. Sorry for not entertaining you. I'm in a hurry and did not see you earlier. I need to look for a person. So please, excuse me." Xander was aware that the other person knew his real identity. So he didn't need to pretend in front of him. However, to avoid attracting more trouble, he decided to keep his identity that way. A man in public but a woman in private. Good thing that the devil was not trying to provoke him or caused trouble for him. "Look for a person?" President Chen sauntered towards him. "What kind of person? Who is he? A friend? A family? A client? Or a lover?" "Sorry Mr. President, I don't think I need to report this to you." The man chuckled. "Of course it is. Remember, I'm your boss." Xander nodded. "Yeah. You are my boss. Okay, I am here for two purposes. I am about to meet a client. But before that, I have to find a person first. As for what the reason and who she/he is, I think I don't need you to know about it. For me, it has nothing to do with you. Now, excuse me." Xander did not wait for the man's words. He turned his back against him and started to walk away. However, before he could walk further, the man spoke once more that forced him to stop his steps. That man really has a lot of ways to get his attention. "What if I know where that person is? Will you come with me?" Xander turned around. "I'll be grateful to you. But, I don't need you to be there. Just tell me where she is." "Grateful? The man nodded. "Look at you, if you are grateful towards me, would you behave like this? You are more like chasing a crazy dog out of your house." "Nevermind. If you don't want to tell me, then don't. I can look for her myself. I don't need you." Xander turned around. He thought that the arrogant President wouldn't pester him anymore but he was wrong. He said something more explosive this time that he had no time to hesitate. "Really? I thought you're in a hurry to find her?" The man said. "There are twenty private rooms in total here. If you are going to look for her in every room, the possibility of finding which room she is will take a long time and worst, you will end up attracting trouble for disturbing others. Even worse is that, before you can find her, it's already too late to save her." "What do you mean?" The man slightly tilted his head. "You're smart. You know what I mean." "I have to find Alyssa before it's too late. Forget it. I'll settle this problem first." Xander pondered. His hands balled into fists for resigning to that man. "I'm in a hurry. Lead the way." "You made the right choice." The man smirked and led the way into a certain room. Xander snorted but he did not say anything. Only his lips curved, showing his displeasure.
