Geneva halted on her steps. It took her several seconds before she decided to face him.
"So it's really you. I thought my eyes were playing a prank on me." Chen Lei sauntered towards them with his hands in his pockets. The man's expression was serious and cold, making the air in the place freezing cold as if they teleported into somewhere in winter with zero degrees temperature. Even so, the man was so captivating in his black windbreaker. He clearly just arrived from a business trip, but he is still so handsome as always and sexy. Making other men's look around him so inferior to him.
Arthur was behind him, following him silently like a tail.
"It's really him." Jasper's expression was shocking. His eyes rounded in surprise. Jaws dropped wide as he stared at the man quietly. "How could this be? Allen is Chen Lei's uncle? What's going on?"
"I just went out for business. When I came back, my old acquaintances showed up unexpectedly in my own house. I am surprised." Chen Lei said coldly while his eyes ran back and forth from Geneva and Jasper. "Even someone insignificant is here. Interesting."
Allen scratched his head, trying to explain. "President Chen, can you not say something like that tonight. Tonight is my birthday. Can you at least give me some face on this special day of mine?"
"Special day?" Chen Lei finally spared a glance at Allen. "How did this night become special? Just because it's your birthday?"
"Yes. That is right. Because tonight is my birthday." Allen faced him with an unpleasant look. "It's fine that you forgot my birthday. But you can't humiliate me, especially my friends… Uncle, I am respecting you because you are my uncle, but you should not go too far. You did not allow me to move to another house which was bought by me personally. So you should not forbid me to organize my birthday in this house. It's your fault after all."
"You are so mad already?" Chen Lei set his eyes back at Geneva. "I have not done something, yet, you are already that mad. Shouldn't I be the one giving you such a face? You are ruining the view of my house."
"How can you say that?" Allen spread his arms, disbelief. "What have I done in your house? Did I ruin it? Did I scatter plenty of trash around the house?"
"Exactly. You scattered trash in my house." Chen Lei slightly cast a sideways glance at Jasper.
"What do you mean by that? Are you telling me that all of these are trash?" Allen pointed at the table full with dishes and drinks.
"No! You're smart. I think You can guess what/who I am referring to."
"What do you mean? You better explain yourself."
Chen Lei raised a hand to shut him up. Allen also understood him and he shut up subconsciously though he felt like he didn't want to. But because of fear towards him, Allen was forced to not talk anymore.
Then, Chen Lei walked over to Geneva and towered on her like a God. "Didn't you say you don't want to see me anymore? Then why are you here? Don't tell me you have amnesia and you don't remember that this is my house?"
Geneva smirked coldly as she met her eyes. The two locked their eyes coldly and intimidatingly, as if no one was around them. From the onlookers, the air in the place was suffocating. They had felt it but the two did not even bother to blink while facing their opponent. As if the one who would blink was a loser and worse, the inferior one.
"Is there something wrong with your head? Did you meet some unpleasant incident while you were on the trip?" Geneva pointed to her temple. "Your mind… is imagining too wildly. Do you think coming over here made you think I want to see you? Come on, do you really think I ce because of you?"
Chen Lei looked around them. Only to meet the unpleasant expression of Allen, a confused and unsatisfied stare of Jasper, and the sharp and unhappy glare of his very own son who stopped eating because of his arrival.
Chen Lei chuckled softly. "Woman. Women really know how to create chances. What do you think, Miss Sanchez?"
Geneva frowned. "What do you mean? Are you telling me that I scheme this chance of coming over just to see you? Do I look that desperate? Ha. Ha. Ha. President Chen, how many times do I have to tell you that you… are nothing to me. I came over for Allen and Little Love. It has nothing to do with you. Do you understand?"
Chen Lei quieted down for a while and then a sarcastic smirk appeared on his sexy and naturally pinkish lips. A kind of smirk that made everyone's hair who saw it stand on end. Though, it made him look so cool, handsome, and strikingly seductive.
Geneva raised a brow at him fearlessly. "What are you mailing about? Do you think I'm lying to you?"
"What do you think?" Chen Lei stepped forward closer to her. Geneva did not step back. She raised her chin even higher and stared at him bravely and coldly. "Miss Sanchez, you are really something. Even lying, you can tell it without flaws. I can't tell right now which one of what you said is the truth."
"Whether you believe it or not, it doesn't matter to me." Geneva said that and then turned around, wanting to leave.
"Have I allowed you to leave right now? I am standing in front of you. Don't pretend you did not see me?" Chen Lei caressed the woman's face flirtatiously.
"Take your hands off!" Allen shouted at his uncle. He came closer to them and pointed at his uncle's hand. He wanted to slap his uncle's arm so badly but he did not dare to do so. His uncle was as scary and cruel as the beast when he was seriously angry. He couldn't afford to bear such consequences. But, Geneva was also very important to him. As a man and a friend, he could not just let her be bullied by his own uncle right?
Auh, what a dilemma.
"Take your hands off uncle, don't touch her." Allen said repeatedly.
Chen Lei looked at him and raised a brow. His expression was somewhat innocent but the air emitting around him was enough to choke them to death. He slightly tilted his head and spoke softly, "What if I don't? Do you have the nerve to deal with me?"
Allen scratched his head helplessly. "Uncle, that is not what I mean. Wait. You clearly know what I am trying to say. You are the alright President of CL Corporation. How could you not understand me? Geneva is a woman, you can't just touch her as you wish. You are older than me. You should know how to act as a gentleman. You—"
"But I have never been a gentleman. When did you see me behaving like a gentleman? This is what I always like. I have been your Uncle for more than twenty years of your existence. Don't tell me you still don't know what I was like?" Chen Lei wore a sweet smile on his lips. Right. It did look sweet but it carried a more dangerous threat. "How about you teach me how to be a gentleman? Hmm?"
