Those gangsters were initially dumbfounded. Upon hearing the mysterious visitor's words, all of them broke into an intense laughter.
Scars immediately returned to his serious and villainous self. He licked his broken lips and smirked. "You want to kill me? Huh!" He pointed at his lips. "Is this enough for you to act tough in front of me?"
"Brother Scars, he is clearly looking down on us. No, he is looking down on you." One of his friends, said.
"Yes, yes. This guy doesn't know his place." Another one seconded. "Bro Scars, let us teach him a lesson."
"No need!" Scars raised his hand to stop them.
"Why?"
"I want to make him realize who is the king in this place!" Scars took a few steps and looked at the mysterious man with killing intent. "Come to me and fight!"
"Hmmmp! If you are that strong, why don't you make the first strike." The mysterious person said in a provocative tone.
"I ask you to come, then come!" Scars shouted. "Don't hide in that rain of dust. Face me!"
The figure of a mysterious visitor slowly walked out of that fountain of sand and pebbles that was also subsiding at the moment. His steps were refined and precise, like a King descended from the high stairs.
When the man completely exposed himself in the eyes of everyone, those injured villagers were stunned— eyes popped wide; jaws dropped. At the same time, strong fear overtook their faces. They took a step back and held each other in a corner.
"It's Xander!"
"It's him!"
"It's really him!"
"He's back!"
Under the eyes of everybody, the mysterious visitor was a good-looking young man. He stood upright and fearless. His eyes were cold and void of emotions. He has a noble demeanor and charm that was hard to resist. Most importantly, apart from his breathtaking looks, he did look like a warrior or most likely be called as The Knight In Shining Armor.
"Wow, what a pretty man!" One of them cheered excitedly. He looked at Scars and blinked at him. "I want that guy Scars."
On the other hand, on a very complex road, Chen Lei and Arthur Jose took a ride.
Chen Lei was sitting upright on the backseat. His legs were crossed as his eyes were closed. Even so, he was aware of his surroundings as he was only a light sleeper. He could feel the road bumping all the way since they entered that place after settling the work in the other city.
Arthur was occasionally giving a glimpse of his master. Being his subordinates for so many years and a friend, he knew that he was not totally asleep. Though driving without having someone to talk to was boring, he did not bother to talk to him as he was clear how tired his boss was after dealing with those groups of stubborn workers in the factory.
The road was narrow and bumping and was clearly not suitable for cars. However, throughout their way, they did not encounter any problems.
Arthur thought it would continue that way. Suddenly, the car stuck on a bump and couldn't run any further. Due to that, Chen Lei hit his forehead on the backrest at the driver's seat.
"What happened?" Chen Lei asked as he caressed his forehead, voice low and cold. He was neither angry nor making things hard for Arthur.
"Give me a second. I'll come down and check for it." Arthur removed his seat belt and checked the car using the flashlight of his phone. After a thorough examination, he sat back inside the car and sighed. "A huge nail stuck in the wheel. We can't move further."
"Do we have spare time?"
"None. I'm sorry. I forgot to reserve one after changing a new tire before our trip here."
Chen Lei looked outside, eyes narrowing as he caught sight of a familiar figure standing not from afar. "Call someone over."
Saying that, the man wounded the window and stared at the back of the figure. That figure didn't need to look back for him to recognise him. From his back, he was clear who it was.
With face suddenly turned dark, even darker than the horrid weather, he thought inwardly, "What is she doing here? And she is here just for… a fight? Is she crazy?"
Wearing a face that was hard to describe, Chen Lei opened the door and got down.
