*Emmy* I take a deep breath and slowly exhale. If he’s not here this time, I’m leaving. I’m not going to sit at a table and wait while the waiters all look at me like I’ve been set up by a date. The reality was so much worse, though. Thankfully, I don’t need to worry tonight because I see my dad as soon as I step inside the steakhouse. He stands and smiles, and I cross the restaurant to him, letting him wrap his arms around me. “I’m glad you came,” he says into my hair. “Me, too,” I reply softly.
