After a week of not hearing from or seeing Adde at the hospital or having her return any of my texts or calls, I went to her house. It was pretty clear that she wasn’t home. My mind immediately went to the worst-case scenario, but I knew she was off work because of their schedule and there were no signs of a struggle. If she was in distress, I was pretty confident I could feel it through our bond. Still, not having been near her for seven long days was messing with my mind. Wolves were not meant to be separated from their mates for this long. No one in the pack had ever heard of this, so they were no help in navigating this uncharted territory.
