*Zara*
"Thank you for letting me come see the movie area". I bow lightly to my husband after we have returned to the palace.
"Set my dear, the place where they are making a movie is called a set". He smiles at me in that, 'be happy you are pretty' way.
I just smile, I know it's called a movie set, I just prefer to play dumb with Imad. It makes my life easier. "But I am tired now. Is it okay for me to go and rest a bit ?"
"Yeah, go rest that pretty little head of yours. You might need your stamina later". He says with a smile that makes me want to throw up.
I hurry to my room. I am not really tired, I just want to be alone. So I pull out my favorite book and go sit in the garden under the tree. Soon I have totally disappeared into the pages of the story.
Actually I am so lost in the characters and their trouble, that I don't hear anyone approach before his shadow falls on me. I look up, and there he is, watching me with a soft smile on his lips.
"Hi Zara. I had kind of hoped you would be here. But you seemed so caught up in your book, so I didn't want to interrupt you". Dean squats down next to me.
My first thought is to panic, mostly because I had taken off my headscarf and veil before going out here. But usually this garden is my private place and I am not used to others using it.
I had not expected him back from shooting the movie this soon. "Oh... hi there Dean. I didn't know you would be back already".
"I am guessing you have been totally lost in that book. Because it is 2 pm and we are taking a couple of hours off because of the heat". He smiles warmly at me.
That means that I have been reading for almost three hours without realising. "Oh sorry, I didn't know so much time had passed".
"I am very sorry about how I acted today. You made it very clear that we should not see each other again… like that. Honestly, that is a wise choice. But I… I kind of hoped we could be friends ?" He looks at me with so much hope in his eyes.
I simply can't help smiling. I know I should say no, but how can I deny him this ? Deny me this ? I don't want him to disappear completely. "I guess friends are okay. You can always use a good friend".
"What are you reading ? Is it good ?" He looks curiously at the book, but as it is in Arabic it won't help him much.
I bite my lip, fearing he will think me silly and childish. "It's kind of an adventure, about a handsome prince, who travels very far to save a beautiful princess from an evil ogre".
"That sounds exciting. Would you care to read some of it to me ?" He flops down on the grass beside me, folding his hand behind his neck.
I open the book to where I had been reading. "You will have to bear with me, I can't read very fast when I have to translate".
"No problem at all. I am just going to lay here and enjoy listening to your voice". He says, smiling up at me and it suddenly feels like my stomach is filled with fluttering butterflies.
I start reading and soon I am all caught up in the story again. It is such an exciting tale, filled with danger and romance.
*Dean*
I am enjoying the sound of her soft beautiful voice. She is clearly all caught up in the adventure on the pages and I get pulled in too, she has a mesmerising way of reading.
I am actually not sure when or how it happened, but somehow I have ended up with my head resting in her lap, gazing up into the clear blue sky above us.
Suddenly I feel her hand softly stroking my neck. I look at her face, she is still fully focussed on the book and probably not even aware of what she is doing.
When her fingers shortly after start combing through my hair, entwining themselves in it, I suddenly have a very hard time concentrating on anything but her hand and her fingers.
I am almost scared to move, afraid that she will realise what she is doing and stop it. The book has reached a big climax and she is all but massaging my scalp as her voice painted vivid pictures.
But as she reaches the big finale, her fingers grab onto my hair, pulling at it. I am unable to hold in a loud gasp, as jolts of undiluted pleasure shots through my body.
"Oh... I am so sorry. I didn't mean to do that. Did I hurt you ?" She lets go of my hair, looking almost scared as she drops the book next to us in the grass.
My eyes catch hers and I can't help the smile I feel spreading on my lips. "It's okay. Actually more than okay Zara, it felt very nice and no it didn't hurt, quite the contrary".
"Ohh". She says on a long soft breath. She blushes slightly, but doesn’t look away. She just keeps gazing into my eyes and I silently beg her to kiss me, the desire to feel her lips again almost unbearable.
Her lips part slightly and I find it hard to breathe, then she lowers her head slowly, pressing her lips to mine.
