Chapter 6: Beg

Tamara’s pov

I woke up early in the morning and had a training session with my father. After that, I went to my room and got showered before going downstairs to say goodbye to my parents.

“Please take care, all of yo.” Mom said as she hugged us.

“Mom, we will be just fine.” Rowan said, and Austin and I nodded.

“Don’t worry aunt, I will take very good care of them.” Jennifer said, and mom smiled. She hugged Jennifer.

“I will take your word for it.” Mom said to her.

“If anything out of the ordinary happens, I expect you to call us. Don’t wait until things get out of hand.” Dad said.

“Yes father, we will call you right away.” Rowan said.

“Yes, we are only one call away. You can all call us at any time for any reason.” Mom said, and her eyes landed on me.

They got in the car and drove away, but something was still weighing on my mind. The way mom has been acting tells me that there is more to this than just a vacation.

Everyone went back inside, but I watched as my parents just drove away.

I will miss them. I have never parted from my parents for a long period of time. So, I don’t know what life without them would be like.

They were always protecting me and shielding me from the harsh world.

And now here I am.

I have promised myself that now I would save my brother from that harsh world.

I know that my parents had to swallow a lot of darkness just to protect us. Now, when they are gone, I will have to swallow all that darkness, and I just hope I can handle it.

I turned around to go back inside, and I found Alpha Darius looking at me.

I just went back inside and ignored him.

“Well, I can’t believe your parents would leave you at such a time.” Mr Bane said.

“Morning sir,” I said and walked past him, but I guess he didn’t like that. He was about to stop me by grabbing my hand, but Uncle Bryan stepped in.

“We allowed you to stay here for only one night. You have overstayed your welcome.” Uncle Bryan said.

“Look at you, it’s been 20 years, and you are still second best.” Mr Bane said.

“At least I am something. I am the Beta to the Alpha King. I helped him create peace between the witches and vampires. I stood next to him during the war and my brother, and I saved werewolves from people like you.” Uncle Bryan said, “What is it that you have done, Bane? I might be second best, but you are nothing.” He added, and looked at me.

“Come on Tamara, say goodbye to the man. Soon you will have the pleasure of never seeing his face again.” Aunt Naomi said.

“Goodbye Mr Bane.” I said, and then turned to leave, but stopped when he scoffed.

“You will die a miserable death little girl.” Mr Bane said and then walked away. He left.

I will admit that Alpha Darius is scary and intimidating, but his uncle is on another level. He is someone who could kill you for just breathing and, honestly he scares me.

His nephew didn’t even come down to say goodbye, or maybe they did so in private.

“Austin, can you give Alpha Darius a tour?” Aunt Naomi asked, and Austin looked at me.

“Actually, I am going to visit grandfather, but Tamar can do it.” He said, looking at me.

I am starting to hate my brother. He is shifting all his responsibilities to me.

“Or Rowan can do it.” I said, looking at my younger brother who was looking at his phone.

“Right, Rowan?” I asked him, and he looked up.

“I don’t know what you said, but the answer is no.” He said, and walked off without another word.

“Jennifer can do it.” I said, looking at my cousin, who shook her head.

“I can’t, I have things to do.” She said and also walked off, leaving me alone with Aunt Naomi and Uncle Bryan.

“Someone has to, and I have to go to the pack training grounds.” Uncle Bryan said.

“Okay, I guess I don’t have a choice.” I said and walked to Alpha Darius’s room.

I knocked on the door, and he opened the door and just looked at me.

“Please get ready. I will give you a tour of the town.” I said.

“I am not interested in seeing your town. Just tell me where the pack training grounds are.” He said and then slammed the door. How am I supposed to tell him where the pack training ground is?

I just shrugged and then walked back to my room and got ready for the day.

Since mom and dad are gone, all the responsibilities have fallen on me. And my twin brother has decided that he will run away and won’t help me. So, I went straight to dad’s office and started working on all the files he couldn’t finish.

As I was working, I got a call from Rowan.

“Weren’t you supposed to give that guy a tour?” He asked me.

“What guy?” I asked him and heard my younger brother sigh.

“That Alpha guy.” He said and I just shrugged.

“Rowan, I am working. I don’t have time to give him a tour. And he slammed the door on my face a few hours ago. I am not going to beg him to give him a tour.” I said and then hung up.

I continued working when a scent hit my nose and Alpha Darius stood at my door.

“So should I be the one to beg?” He asked me, and I looked at him confused.

Ohhh...

“I should have told you, he was listening.” Rowan said as he was passing by to his room. His attention was still on his phone.

I just sighed. “Alpha, I will have someone to take you to the pack training grounds.” I said as I picked up my phone.

I called one of the omegas from the packhouse to come and take him to the training grounds.

Even after hearing that the person who would be taking him to the grounds would be downstairs in a few minutes, he didn’t leave. He just stood there looking at me.

“Is there anything else?” I asked him, and he walked into the office and sat down.

“Why? Why haven’t you said anything about us being mates?” He asked me.

I wanted to ask him why he hasn’t said anything.

“Is there anything to say?” I asked him.
