Tamara’s pov
“Julia, could you please make sure that they clean another guest room,” I said to Julia.
Julia handles all our family matters, she is the one that has the omegas to come and clean our home.
They only come for a day and clean and then go back to the pack house.
Julia lives with her; she is the one that cooks and handles everything around here.
“Of course, you didn’t eat anything yesterday. Your parents would kill me if I let you skip meals,” she said, and I nodded.
“I will have dinner with Rowan and everyone,” I said as I took an apple for the road.
I am going on a run and it’s about 4am..
That’s usually the time when Julia wakes up and starts preparing for the day.
When I came back for a run, I took a shower and started working.
Rowan came knocking before going to school.
“Is there a problem?” I asked him and he shook his head.
He was already dressed in his school uniform, but he seemed somewhat out of it.
“Is this how life will be from now on?” he asked me, and I looked at him confused.
“What do you mean?” I asked and he sighed.
“I know that mom and dad are hiding something.
There is no way they would go on a vacation at a time like this.
And I know that you are hiding something as well,” he said.
I got up from my chair and went to his side.
“You want to know what everyone is hiding?” I asked him and he nodded.
“Well, I am hiding the fact that I am scared.
What if I can’t defeat Alpha Darius and what if I die?
I am scared, and I bet that is what mom and dad are also hiding,” I said.
I held his hand and smiled.
“You know our parents; they would never let anything bad happen.
And I would never let anything bad happen.
So don’t you worry about us, everything will work out,” I said, and he looked at me.
“You have never been a good liar,” he said, and I smiled a little.
“From tomorrow on I want us to have breakfast and dinner like a family. Like we always did,” he said and got up.
I just smiled as I watched him walk away and go to school.
He never seemed to enjoy the family dinners and breakfasts.
So I thought he didn’t want to be a part of it.
A few months ago, mom burned his door down because he wouldn’t come down for dinner.
My smile disappeared when I caught Alpha Darius’s scent, and he wasn’t alone.
I could hear them talking.
“Ohhh yes, they had to leave the pack house because of her.
Don’t worry about her, she will be easy to kill,” I heard Kim say.
“Yes, even I can kill her. She is nothing but a weak hybrid she wolf,” Deidra said.
Why would he bring those people here to my home?
After a few minutes, I couldn’t avoid going downstairs because I was honestly hungry.
I went downstairs and found them on a couch and Kim was talking nonstop.
“Morning,” I said as I went to the kitchen to get something to eat.
Julia was there with a few omegas.
“Please give our guests some refreshments,” I said, and she nodded.
“I wish your mother were here, she would have killed that disrespectful boy,” Julia said.
I mean she isn’t wrong;
Alpha Darius is a guest here, and he can’t bring other people without at least asking the owners of the house.
Uncle Bryan left early today to meet a few Alphas outside the pack.
He wants to gain more allies and hopefully the match won’t happen.
“Tamara, get me a drink,” Kim said, and before I could answer, and omega came out with drinks.
I just walked away, and I could hear her scoff while I was leaving.
“You are nothing but the walking dead, Alpha promise me that you will take your time when you kill her. Make it hurt,” Kim said.
I stopped to hear Alpha Darius’s response.
“I was planning on it anyway,” he answered.
I walked to my office and worked for the rest of the day.
After the long day, dinner was ready.
So, my parents were hoping that somehow we would be able to change Alpha Darius’s mind.
It won’t do if he eats in his room and doesn’t get to know us better.
Maybe if we share a meal or two he will see that we are not bad people.
I walked to his room and knocked; he didn’t say a word but heard his footsteps coming towards the door.
He opened the door, and his hazel eyes were filled with hate as he looked at me.
How do people do it?
How do people hate people they have just recently met?
I haven’t wronged the man in any way, and yet he hates me.
“We are having dinner downstairs. We would appreciate it if you joined us,” I said.
“No, thank you,” he said and was about to slam the door, but I held it.
“And I would appreciate it if you didn’t bring guests here,” I said, and he scoffed.
“I remember paying rent, and last time I checked I will be living here for 6 months. I can’t stare at your face only, I would probably go mad,” he said with a smirk.
“I was bored, I needed some company.
Do you have a problem with that, mate? As my mate, you should be considerate towards my happiness. Right mate?” he asked me.
“Well then, I will have them send your dinner to your room,” I said, and then walked away.
I took a deep breath;
I know the reason he hasn’t rejected me yet, and it’s the same reason I haven’t done the same.
The truth is breaking a mate bond can weaken someone for over a year and both of us can’t be weak at that moment.
But I am tempted to reject him and end this mate bond bullshit.
Honestly, something tells me he is going to be using this so-called mate bond to get on my nerves.
I walked back downstairs, and my family was there, so we had dinner and could catch up.
Rowan was still looking at his phone, but he looked up for a second and looked at me with a smile.
My brother’s smile is as beautiful as our mother’s smile and as rare.
These two hardly smile and when they do, it could melt your heart away.
While Austin and I are like dad, we always have a gentle smile on no matter the situation.
After dinner, Stanley came to my room.
“It’s done,” he said, and showed me the emails and I smiled at that.
“Right on time,” I said, and he sat down, and I could see him staring at me.
“Do you know who I fear more than your mother?” he asked me, and I shook my head.
“If I tried to guess, I would say my father or grandmother, she is a scary woman,” I said, and he shook his head.
“You,” he said pointing at me and I looked at him confused.
“Remember when Austin and I dyed your hair green?” he asked me, and I nodded.
“What did you do next?” he asked me, and I shrugged.
“I didn’t do anything, I just dyed my hair black again,” I said, and he nodded.
“Not right away, we thought everything was okay, and you had forgotten and yet 4 months later we woke up with orange hair,” he said, and I started chuckling.
“I spent the 4 months perfecting a spell and an antidote, no matter how many times you tried to dye your hair you were stuck with the orange hair,” I said remembering it.
“Yes, and because of that, we were your slaves for an entire month,” he said, shaking his head with a smile.
“It was evil, but it was genius.
If there is anyone who can go up against the big bad Alpha, it’s you.
And you will handle him with a gracious smile on your face,” he said, and then walked away.
I tried getting some sleep and could only get 4 hours of sleep before I was woken by that terrible dream again.
I did the same boring routine until the pack guards called me about my guest.
I went downstairs to welcome him, and Uncle Bryan joined me.
Jennifer has been away tracking this werewolf that has been harassing our pack members.
“Are you sure about this kiddo?” he asked me, and I nodded.
“Yes uncle, you can trust me on that,” I said, and he nodded.
The car stopped and the man of the hour came out.
“Mr Jones, welcome to our humble abode,” Uncle Bryan said.
The brown-haired man gave us a genuine smile.
“I am pleased to meet you,” he said, but before he could say anything else, Alpha Darius came down running.
“What the hell is going on here?
Ross, what the hell are you doing here?” Alpha Darius asked him with venom in his voice.
“Uncle, please take Mr Ross inside,” I said, and Uncle Bryan nodded.
I turned to look at Alpha Darius and I smiled.
“What you said yesterday touched me.
So, I had to do something about it.
You said you were bored so I bought your childhood friend and beta.
I am just being considerate towards your happiness, mate. Do you like my surprise?” I asked him.
