Chapter 4: The brutal Alpha

1300 Words
Tamara’s pov I looked at him and how everyone was cheering for him. I looked around, and everyone seemed to have accepted him as the Alpha already. “And I contest as well.” Another guy got up, and Alpha Darius looked at my father. “The law is that I will fight your daughter in 6 months. Is there a law that stops me from killing anyone else?” Alpha Darius asked my father. “No, but-” Before Dad could even finish his sentence the other guy who got up was dead. Alpha Darius had his heart in his hands. He smirked before dropping it to the floor. He turned around and looked at the crowd. “Is there anyone else who wants to contest?” He asked the crowd. It was silent, and you could even hear a needle drop in this silence. I looked at him, and there was not even a hint of guilt or regret. He took a life like it was nothing. His eyes landed on me and then my father. “I am a very merciful person. Tell your daughter to quietly bow down, or she will die.” He said. My father’s eyes landed on me as if he was considering agreeing to this deal. But now that I have seen it with my own eyes. I can’t let this man be Alpha King. He has no sign of sympathy, and something tells me he isn’t a man of his word. “Son, you are here to contest not to give advice. It was a cute display of strength, but I can do much better.” My mother said, getting up. In a matter of seconds, he was on the floor. It was obvious he was in pain, but he didn’t scream. “I would like to remind you. This is my pack, and these are my people. If you even harm a hair on their head, I will personally kill you, rules be damned.” Mom said before walking away. Alpha Darius got up. I looked at him, surprised by his strength. The spell my mother used could take down even the strongest of Alphas. It’s either my mother isn’t as strong as she was, or this Alpha Darius is too strong. He only showed signs of pain but endured, even mom was taken aback. “Well, your claim is valid. I assume you know the rules and what must be done. Let’s go Kiddo.” Dad said as he held my hand, and we walked away. Alpha Darius just smirked as he looked at me, and I was confused. I then focused my attention on something else. We got inside and mom was angry. “I can’t believe that son of a b***h did that, imagine killing someone in front of us.” Mom said. “Well, it isn’t against the rules.” Austin said, and mom sighed. “Are you okay? You seemed distracted.” Dad said, and I nodded. How do I tell them that I am not okay? How do I tell them that the same person who is going to kill me in 6 months is my mate? How do I tell them that I am scared? I am scared but at the same time angry. I am angry because someone like him might just be the Alpha King of all werewolves. Someone who hates Vampires and doesn’t respect witches will one day be the Alpha King. I am scared because I know that I am going to die in a few months. I can never win against someone like him. I thought I was fast, but I was wrong. I didn’t even see him move. I tried to catch up with him, but even my eyes couldn’t catch up with him. He walked with confidence and could talk in a large crowd, unlike me. Honestly, if he hadn't been a ruthless killer, then I would have happily stepped down. “And we have to live with such a guy in this house for 6 months.” Rowan said. “Actually, your father and I aren’t travelling anymore.” Mom said, and I could tell it was serious. My mom could see that he was obviously a threat, and I was wrong to think he wasn’t. I thought he would be some old man, but no, he is actually the most attractive man I have ever seen. “What? You know that we have to travel, Taylor, it’s important that we do so.” Dad said, and mom looked at him. “But our kids, Ashton, our kids will be staying with a ruthless killer who hates us. Did you hear what he called Tamara? A half breed she wolf.” Mom repeated his words. “I know that, but you must also know the reason why we have to go.” Dad said, and mom sighed. What is this reason? Why does it feel like my parents are hiding something? “But it won’t matter if we come back to dead kids.” Mom added. “He wouldn’t dare. I think he also knows that.” Uncle Bryan said. “I will be here. We will both be here and will keep an eye on them.” Aunt Naomi said. “And he doesn’t strike me as an i***t that he would start a war. He knows that the witches won’t take it laying down, nor will the vampires.” Uncle Bryan said. “That is true, you should trust me, Taylor. Tamara, Rowan, and Austin are just like my own kids. I would never let any harm come to them.” Aunt Naomi said. There was a knock on the door, and I caught his scent before seeing him. He came in with his head held high like he owned the place. Behind him was an older man. “Good evening the Knight family, are we disturbing?” the older man asked. My mother scoffed, “You really have been looking forward to this, haven’t you, Bane?” Mom asked Mr Bane. She then started laughing. “You weren’t enough back then, and I guess it runs in the family. Your son also wasn’t enough as well, which is why you are using your nephew.” My mom said and continued laughing. “Weakness must run in the family.” She added, and I could see the man losing his temper. “You witch bitch.” Bane said, and mom smiled. “You spineless swine.” Mom said, and I swear you could cut the tension with a knife. “I guess we should have your room ready for you.” Dad said and then pointed at me and Jennifer. “Please can you get a room ready for this gentleman?” He asked us, and we nodded. “Only one room?” Jennifer asked looking at Mr Bane. “Yes, only one room. Mr Bane failed to make a place for himself a long time ago. Should I get you a box so you can sleep in the streets?” Mom asked Mr Bane. “Mom, we can’t let him go this late at night. Can we prepare a room for him as well? It’s only one night.” Austin said. Mom looked at me and I nodded, like Austin said it’s only one night. As I was walking up the stairs, Alpha Darius spoke up. “Stop, I believe that there is something you should know.” He said, and I turned around to look at him. He had this smirk on his face. “It’s about your daughter as I, I really think you should know this.” He added. Is he going to tell them that we are mates?
