Chapter 10: stranger

Tamara’s pov “Well, your outfit seems appropriate enough. Let’s start now,” he said, and I nodded. “First things first, show me what you can do,” he said, and I looked at him confused. He started throwing punches my way and I just defended myself, fending off his attacks. He suddenly stopped and looked at me. “You are stiff. Why are you stiff?” he asked me. He looked at me before chucking, “that’s it for today,” Ross said and looked at Joseph. “Look at that, you just bored him in one combat training session,” Kim said, laughing. But Ross was looking at me with a smile before he then walked away. He said the same thing that my father always says, but I don’t understand what they mean. Hell, even when I started dancing ballet, my mother told me the same thing. I even decided to quit because I was just too stiff. It didn’t matter what I did. I watched as the werewolves were training, and I couldn’t help but feel like an outsider. Just like my father, I got my wolf at 15 years old, but they don’t look at me the same way. Maybe it’s because they don’t know that I got my wolf then. I have never really wanted to attract any attention at all, hence, I avoided even mentioning it. My family also didn’t tell anyone. I wonder though it would change how they view me if they knew? Would they treat me differently and look up to me like they did my father? I know that my father had to win a war to completely earn their trust. But I am no one. I got my wolf at a young age, but I am still a girl. And against someone like Alpha Darius, I don’t think that I stand a chance. After some time. I got up and decided to go back home, but someone stopped me on the way. Alpha Darius came out of nowhere and looked at me. “Don’t waste your time and mine, just give up already,” he said, and I looked at him confused. “Give up what?” I asked him and he scoffed. “You think that Ross will make you a warrior and that too in less than 6 months?” he asked me, and I just shrugged. “I didn’t think so, but it seems like you think that way,” I answered, and he rolled his eyes. “Be honest with yourself and stop wasting my time. I have things that I need to do the moment I become Alpha King and this wait is unnecessary,” he said, and I looked at him. "You were born with a silver spoon, how can someone as fragile as you even think of being Alpha Queen?" he asked me. I looked at him, he was my mate and yet the hate in his eyes was evident. He can't even hide it, but why? I did nothing wrong, so why? "You will have your chance to claim the throne as you want. You and I will fight and if you kill me, then you will be, Alpha King," I said and turned to leave, but heard him scoff. "Don't tell me you think I will pity you and let you live since you are my mate," he said and scoffed one more time. I watched as he walked towards me with a smirk on his face. "Forget it mate, I will kill you and I will be Alpha King, Mate!" he said with so much venom, but I nodded. "Okay," I said and turned to leave but stopped midway to look at him. "It's not fair that you grew up without your parents. But it's also not fair that you hate me for being raised in a loving home you always wished for yourself," I said and smiled. "As for the mate part, I have no hope for us. I believe in love over the mate bond, and do not be fooled by appearances. Who knows? Maybe I will be the one who kills you, and then I will be Alpha Queen, Mate!" I said and walked away. I know all about his childhood and he seemed surprised by what I said because he just stood there. I don’t know if he hates me because I grew up in a family with both my parents. Maybe he resents the fact that I had a life that he couldn’t have for some reason. That I have always gotten everything I wanted, and now I don’t even want to give up the throne. But the truth is different. Yes, I grew up with both parents, but I have had my fair share of problems. I turned around to look at him and I smiled as I walked away. I thank the moon goddess that I didn’t have any hope for his mate bond or any mate bond. Or I would be walking around broken hearted. Imagine having your heart broken by someone you just met because of expectations you had towards them. I got home and I couldn’t think about what Ross said about me being stiff. I changed into some comfortable clothes and went to my dance room. My parents had a cute dance studio made for me since I didn’t want to join the other pack members. They made me uncomfortable and back then I didn’t know my strength, so I would lose balance. I danced for hours, which is something I haven’t done in months now. Life has been getting in the way that I haven’t gotten the time to unwind. I got showered and then went back to the office and Ross came in shortly after that. He was now all clean and put a paper on my table before looking at me. “Do you trust me?” he asked me, and I shook my head. “We just met,” I said, and he nodded with a smile and gestured at the paper. I looked at it, it was old and seemed to have gone through a lot. “That was Alpha Darius’s schedule. I was his trainer and made him the monster he is now. Now, since I created this monster, I want to help you become an even stronger force against him,” he finished. “You trained Alpha Darius?” I asked him and he nodded. “What do you say? Do you want me to truly train you to the bone?” he asked me, and I nodded. “Train me to the bone,” I said, and he just shrugged and then turned to leave the room. “I believe that there is only one person in this world who is capable of getting rid of Darius. And that person is you,” he said and closed the door. We just met and he seems to have so much faith in me. How and why? Why is he trusting a complete stranger like me?
