CHAPTER FIVE WHEN SUSANNA ARRIVED home, Caiden sat on the balcony, sketchbook in hand, feet propped up on the railing, and a tall glass of wine beside him. She dropped her purse on the table by the front door and joined him, a smile on her face at how relaxed he seemed. “Enjoying the quietness of the afternoon?” she asked as she stepped out on the balcony. The winter breeze was crisp as it cut across the balcony, tugging at her hair. She took a deep breath in, savoring the smell of Christmas on the wind. Each season held its own scent, and Christmas was her favorite. All too soon, the heat would return, making everything sweaty and sticky. She relished the few cool, comfortable days of winter they received. Florida had four seasons, but three of them only lasted for a few days each while
