7 SCHOOL SUMMER HOLIDAYSThe winter in Thailand is a short and very mild one. By the second week of January, it is already a lot warmer than at Christmas and by March, it is too hot for children to attend school, since very few rural schools have air conditioning. Therefore, the school summer holidays start sometime around the middle of March and go on until early June, by which time the great monsoon has usually started.
