“Valerio,” my voice immediately gets thick with emotion as I scramble for my bedside light before looking back at him as he makes his way over to the bed. “I’m sorry for disappearing on you,” he says, sitting next to me, and I throw myself in his arms, overcome with emotion, and cry.
He holds me tight, continuing to apologize, saying it will never happen again and I pull back and ask him what happened and if he’s okay. But I don’t get to finish as he captures my lips in a passionate but tender kiss that has me curling my toes.
