Santiago Matis smiled patiently at his daughter, Valentina, who prattled on and on about how marrying Anthony Morgan was the best thing she might ever do. They’d chosen to sit on the restaurant balcony overlooking the Caribbean ocean, though the black lace covered table had a wide green umbrella to block the blazing heat of the evening. The blue ocean and white sands with green and white beach chairs meant the resort owned the beach for as long as the eye could see.
With Valentina’s mother long dead, it was up to Santiago to stop his daughter from this disaster she claimed to want right now. Valentina had no idea how dangerous Anthony Morgan was and it was better for his daughter to stay far away from a man just like his father.
