Chapter 5
Pilar waited for Santiago to leave with his daughter and then gulped a glass of water at the bar. She wasn’t prepared for today. In her fantasies of long ago, her husband returned home and told her where he’d been. However, in her dreams, he always knew that he still loved her as she loved him.
She asked for another cup of water from the bartender and felt two women behind her back. She turned and faced Isabelle Morgan and Fiona Dupree. Both women her age, but vastly different. Isabelle was blonde, blue-eyed and stately even now with her hair up in a bun. Fiona had brown hair and brown eyes like Pilar, but her white skin was flawless and her hair was stylishly short. Fiona stepped forward and asked, “Pilar, who was that man you’ve been talking to?”
