HAIDEN’S POV — Silence, that’s what the house is filled with. My mother hasn’t left her room since my father’s death. She didn’t even go to his funeral, but I noticed her leave the house late at night that day, and I suspect that’s where she went. I think that was the only time that she left her room. I lost my dad, but it doesn’t feel like it. I gained everything that I wanted, without his help. He didn’t sacrifice himself, but he ran away from the pack, suddenly leaving me with all of the responsibilities. I walk to my mother’s room, knocking on the door. It’s been a week, and she hasn’t eaten. “Mother,” I knock on her door, but her silence is something I’m used to. “Get your ass out of bed,” my knuckles slam against the door. I glance down at the handle, and my hands slides down to it
