After a long and eventful day, one would expect me to wake up late the next morning but, yet again, I had to be unconventional. The red light on the alarm clock sitting on the drawer beside me read 5:05 and I wondered what had pulled me out of what had been a dreamless sleep. The lights were totally put out but since the blinds weren’t drawn, street lights illuminated the room with a soft glow. Dylan was sleeping soundly beside me after throwing a terrible tantrum when I had tried to spend the night in another room.  One hand was flung across his face, covering his eyes while the other reached between us to casually graze against mine.
