Chapter 8: Run away

Time flies when you are really busy. Who would have thought that my WORLD TOUR is finally over! It feels like it was only yesterday when Soul rejected me. But it has been almost a year! Being so busy with so many projects, I hardly have time to think about him. So many things had happed for the past months, I received so many awards, attended lots of catwalks, and had a world tour.

I celebrated my debut in Europe since I had a concert there at that time and my parents surprised me a grand party, they all went to Europe to celebrate my birthday with me.

There were some events when I am in Beverly Hill but I rarely attend because I am afraid to see Soul again. And now that I am back from my world tour I will be having a month of vacation and then Contract Signing will follow.

I have heard a rumor that Soul had been seeing a Celebrity, but no one knows who. I kinda still feel bad about it but then I have already accepted it and I know to myself that he can never be mine.

Sad but that’s the reality.

I took my keys and open my pad.

“Surprised!” I almost scream in surprise.

My pad is full of people and my place is decorated with balloons flowers and other party decors.

My mother appeared out of nowhere. She’s holding a cake with a CONGRATULATIONS dedication, then my father and brother appeared with flowers.

“Ohh my gosh, what’s happening?” I asked them while they tried to squeeze me in a big hug.

“Well, Mom here, thought that we should celebrate the success of your World Tour Concert and also we have to welcome you back!” Isaac said before he put his arms on my shoulder.

“I am just so happy that you are back! And so proud of your achievements darling!” My mother said before she kissed my cheeks.

“Thank you Mom!”

The guests are some relatives and family friends and my friends in the industry. I am thankful I decided to get a huge pad that can cater lots of guests.

Cherie and Beth are around with Jesther and Callum. The McDermotts are also around except Soul of course.

As I roamed around to greet some guests I saw Kirsten. She’s drinking alone in one corner, and I think she’s already tipsy.

I decided to talk to her.I haven’t seen her for a long time. I heard she rarely received projects for the last months.

 “Hi!” I greeted her when I came close to where she is.

“Isobel.” She said before she nodded.

Her eyes are unreadable, she’s looking at me indifferently which made me feel awkward.

“How are you doing?”

Her eyebrow raised at me.

“Not even half as good as you are doing.” She said before she shrugged her shoulders.

My lips parted, I didn’t expect that answer.

“Don’t worry, for sure, you will receive offers in the future.. I mean, your time will also come-“

“How can that happen, when every good opportunity is given to you?” she said, I can almost taste the bitter feeling that spilling from her mouth.

I opened my mouth, but before I can even say something she already cut me off.

“I don’t understand..” she started. “I know you are good.. that’s why you always get all the good offers, and those that you declined are always thrown to us little stars. And we will always end up the second choice no matter what we do.. but how can we even go to your level when all the opportunities are given to you?” she said while giving me a blank look.

I bit my lips and turned to look away. I don’t know how to answer her. What she said is true, but what can I do? I am just accepting the offers given to me.

“I’m sorry..”

She laughed bitterly.

“Is that all you can say?”

I didn’t have the chance to answer her when Soul appeared behind her.

“Soul! You’re here?” My eyes widen as I look at Soul.

He still looks the same. Still annoyingly gorgeous.

I can’t take off my eyes from him, but he just threw me a glance before he looks down at Kirsten. I saw how his face soften.

“Your parents are here! They said you can’t come because you are busy-“

“I am just here to take Kira home.” He cut me off before he gave his attention to Kira.

“Ohhh..”

He places his hand on Kira’s waist and his other hand on Kira’s arm. And all I can do is to watch his movements.

“Kira, let’s go you are drunk.. I will drive you home.”

My lips parted, not because of what he has said but because of how gentle and sweet he delivered it.

My eyes turned to Kirsten. She is looking at me intently, her eyes turned to slits, it is like she discovered something..

“I am still enjoying the party of the most famous Star!” Kirsten said sarcastically.

“I think she is drunk..” I said

“I think..you like him,” Kirsten said while pointing at Soul.

Seeing Soul at the party did nothing good to me. It just made me remember how much I like him. But seeing him with Kirsten is a different story. Is Kirsten his rumor girlfriend? Aunt Amelia said that Kirsten is just a friend of Soul, but Soul’s actions and the way he looks at her says otherwise.

And seeing that hurts.

I can still remember how Kirsten looks at me with a smug look on her face.

It is as if she discovered my greatest secret.

My weakness!

I sighed.

I think I should sign the new project that is being offered to me, the location will be in Asia and it will take 6 months to shoot the movie.

That will be a great distraction right?

Then after that, I have a fashion show in New York and I have to be there for 3 months.

So I will be away for a long time and that would be good for me, I will be busy and will have no time to think about Soul like what happened last time.

I sighed again.

Running away is my only option right now and it is really frustrating!

But what can I do?

I just can’t stand seeing Soul again, and my path might cross with Kirsten, and she will just remind me of Soul.

So yeah.. running away is the answer to my problem.
