I sat up and opened my phone and, to my surprise, it was fully charged.
I dialed my parents even though I know it's pointless. Deep down in my heart I wish they would pick up and say they are fine.
The phone rang for a while and then went to voicemail.
I placed my phone down in dismay and leaned on the seat and closed my eyes.
The ride back home was quiet and I rushed to my room as soon as the car stopped.
They did not join me, which I appreciate, because now I need all the space I can get.
I closed the door and sat on the bed hugging my knees.
